Do these work is set pairs or do they mix and match?

If there are regular pairing is there a list somewhere?

DVTs are semi-permanently formed in rakes of coaching stock, as that is what they are - coaching stock, but even coach formation in the rake can change from time to time due to maintenance requirements, accident damage, etc.

Locos are changed more regularly.

There is no default pairing.

Ah, ok thanks - I was at Kings Cross the other day and was wondering if i needed to walk up to the end of the platform to get the numbers - I did but wondered if there was an easier way!
