If they’re loosing subsidiary for the service, putting the price up to a more realistic price to cover running the service?

At £2.40 for a day return at the moment it’s no wonder it doesn’t cover costs.
For one person it's useful for commuting
I remember a situation a few years ago where I was waiting at stop on Bath Road nearest to St Brendans. A crowded X39 turned up which all the other passengers at the stop boarded closely followed by a lightly loaded ABUS decker on the 349 which I flagged down. The driver didn't seem best pleased with me for flagging him down when there was already a First bus on the stop and then wanting to purchase a single from him and actually told me I should have used the X39.

He did soften up and let me off the fare in the end
A proper bus driver from the old school!

The U3 when it starts, is going to be operated by CT Plus for First.

Also, the 7 in Weston today was awash with the purple 320** B7 ALX400s. No less than 4 was on it. Presume both the 1 and the 20 was in the hands of the open tops.

Ah lovely bus from yesteryear. Often Playbuses get painted up in various colours to catch the eye of the children rather than a plain Jane livery. How about one painted up by children's design as per a competition by the bus company to attract youngsters interest in their local buses.
Remember the Metrobuses in Bath on 339 etc. Think there were 6 of them based there in Badgerline days.
Cheers, Mike

You thinking of the Metrobuses that each had a different livery (albeit a common layout) for travel passes? There were 5 - 6000-4 DAE510-4W. Iirc, one did get preserved but didn’t survive).

Quite possibly Wazoo, though I know some carried Badgerline Yellow/ Green livery. They were at Bath when the then new G reg Olly's with Eastern Counties bodywork appeared. These were the batch of Olly's that later saw service in Somerset then later still down in Cornwall.
Otherwise it was VRs in Bath including the lowbridge examples that were ex London Country.

Yeah, they did gain Badgerline colours though I never traveled on them.

The G-TWS Olympians were actually Leyland bodied (using the old ECW design and jigs though); think one was saved for preservation but don’t know it’s status now.

Think the high-bridge VRs had all gone by the time I first visited but there were plenty of P and R reg standard height plus the EWS-W ones (and refugees from Eastern National).

For those interested, day 1 of Bristol Parkway closure, all shuttles are being operated by streetlites up from Hengrove.... so far.

Surprising they're using Streetlites. Wouldn't have thought they'd cope with loadings. In all the times I've used RRB around Bristol, it's always been a mixture of Geminis and Enviro 400MMCs, even for local work (i.e. not across to Newport via the bridge).

Tbh, given today's loadings they are more than sufficient. Might be a littke different during the week though.
Ps they're also doing CrossCountry shuttles!

Rather confusingly, the network map shows the new U2 running via Bedminster, whilst the timetable leaflet shows it as running via Anchor Road/Ashton. One assumes the latter is correct?

On a visit to Bridgwater today noted ex Kernow Solar's 65759/61 were still in Atlantic Coaster livery's looking very smart whilst 65764 is two-tone green.
No sign of 65760 though even at the depot. B6 48271 was out on 21 duty's also so still trundling around.

Does anybody know where the Avon Rider tickets are shown on a Ticketer machine? Somebody I know has had issues with First drivers saying they've never heard of them, and cant issue them, and it might help if they knew some hints for the driver.

(I'm taking it up with First however I don't expect a reply for weeks and I don't expect it'll suddenly make the drivers better!).

Been a few months since I bought one. Tried at the bus station and they were floored!! Ended up buying one off a Wessex 51 instead!

They are on a special tab on the Ticketer. It is either 'Rider' or 'Multi', it's been a while since I issued one I can't remember the name of the tab. All of the Rider tickets including day and week are on the same tab.
