a 92 failed on shed at Wembley yesterday evening, 92 044 pressed into service on 1S25 and 90 041 on 1S26
Wasn't 044 due to cover anyway so 033 can have its exam and then 044 be ready for special duties Fri night?

0Z42 Crewe Down Holding Siding - Garston Car Terminal (92 going on to cars??)
http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/R00008/2018/09/18/advanced

It's quite interesting to read that as whilst at Stafford last Thursday a guy I was chatting to noticed that the ex Garston train was specified to be hauled by an electric loco on RTT. It turned out to be 66779 but I did speculate at the time that maybe it had been amended in readiness for 92s to go back on the cars (although it could easily have stated electric loco on there ever since the 92s used to do the run on a regular basis)

The loco allocation on the paths is never the best of indicators - Monday's was "electric" when it was always going to be the Shed. That flow is supposed to be electric-hauled, but as you say hasn't been 92-hauled for a good while now whilst the 92s have been going through CAF mods at Brush etc.

For those who are not aware, no 92 moved north yesterday and 779 remains on the cars for now.

Round-up:
006 - Brush reinstatement
010 - Brush CAF Mods
014 - Wembley (for repair - was sat in the Yard last I heard)
018 - Wembley depot (Mods/Exam)
020 - Brush reinstatement
023 - 1S25
028 - 5C11 / 1C11 etc (Carstairs portion)
032 - Dollands Moor (china clays tonight)
033 - Wembley depot (Exam)
038 - Polmadie (Mk5s / ECS)
043 - Dollands Moor (china clays tonight)
044 - Waverley, likely on 1M16 later

021/040 - stored Frethun
045/046 - stored Loughborough Brush

For anyone interested, 92036 is currently being hauled south by 90018 towards Wembley having come out of Crewe electric (RTT headcode 089O)

Edit: we can all probably ignore this as I've since realised that 036 isn't part of the CS fleet

North and Southbound highlanders cancelled tonight due to the bad weather. A decision yet be made about the Lowlander services.

Wouldn't worry about it - the last six remaining operational DB ones sometimes crop up on here.

92 036 has worked the Caledonian Sleeper anyway, so very much in keeping with the topic thread title... https://flic.kr/p/ovvufQ

It's being reported, on the GBRf tour RTT site, that 92033 may be working the overnight leg of the GBRf railtour

There's been a post on a Yahoogroup tonight timed at 19.39 of it passing Vauxhall so it appears it is indeed pulling the tour.

It is indeed - I'm one of the lucky few onboard!
Gbrf know there best locos but fair play to them they always never let the enthusiasts down on there tours always get good reliable traction on all legs cant fault them.

90 046 (on one of the periodic Skoda swap moves) hauled 92 018 to Crewe today and dropped the 92 off at DB Cargo's Crewe Electric depot. I'm pretty sure this is the first time 018 has visited CE since it was moved from there to France by its then new owners Europorte on 13th July 2011.

018 was moved that day in July 2011 by then-Colas locos 47749 T'n'T 47727 along with 033 and 006. Doubt many people in 2011 would've expected all five of those engines to be working the Sleeper several years down the line. For completeness, the 47s moved 014 and 023 south the following week.

Round-up:

006 - Brush (Reinstatement)
010 - Brush (CAF mods)
014 - Wembley depot (awaiting repair)
018 - Crewe Electric TMD
020 - Brush (Reinstatement - moved from stored pool GBET to active pool GBSL last Tuesday)
023 - Sleeper: Polmadie/Carstairs portion
028 - Sleeper: Edinburgh/Highlander
032 - Dollands Moor
033 - Sleeper: 1S26
038 - Sleeper: Polmadie/Mk5 testing
043 - Sleeper: 1M11
044 - Garston/Dagenham cars (6L48/6X41)

Good to see one of them hauling an actual freight train again!

006 - Brush (Reinstatement)
Interesting to note that this one was changed to status 'B' (Not to be moved, awaiting documentation) a few weeks back, from the 'X' (exam/repair) it had been. No idea on the reason for that change.

For anyone who likes original grey 92s on freight (and watching LOTS of cars/vans going past) - some footage of 92 044 on 6X41 (x3) over the past week:

Any indications anywhere as to whether there are likely to be any other 92s moved onto the cars at any point or will it remain as 044?

044 is 6D(ays) to next exam, which means it'll be heading off to Wembley either at the weekend or early next week. Reasonable chance a 66 will sub for a few days and 044 will then return post-exam.

Could get one of the others however 044 hasn't had the reliability mods yet, whereas all the others (bar 032) have had them, so preference tends to be to keep 044/032 away from the Sleepers unless absolutely necessary.

Thanks @TimboM, I shall keep an eye on it into next week then to see if 044s cover is anything of interest
