Bridlington will have to be up there with five platforms culled.

But does anywhere beat Bradford Exchange? Ten platforms down to four , so a loss of six.

I knew I’d forgotten a big one. I think this will be the winner.

It depends on how you look at it mathematically. Yes Vic had seventeen, but it still has six, so it still has a third of its platforms.

Epsom Downs only has a ninth of its original platforms.

Tynemouth station had nine platforms when the current station was built in 1882. Only two remain today - a loss of seven platforms.

Not very impressive but I can think of these ones in the Southern/South Western region:
North Camp 4 down to 2 (Guildford-bound island platform still stands, with a fence where the trackbed was, likewise the Reading-facing blocks still exist on the opposite platform)
Farnborough Main 6 down to 2 (original island on what are now the fast lines, the London facing bay and the town side bay for the military/town trains)
I believe Winchfield and Brookwood had island platforms at one point too.
Havant 3 down to 2
was Southampton Central's 5th (bay) platform ever used for passenger services?
Portsmouth Harbour 5 down to 4
Salisbury 6 down to 4
many stations along the West of England line which are now on the single line, still have platform faces on the opposite side (such as Crewkerne)

One might make a case for the single platform at Blackpool South being the last remnant not only of the original 4 platforms there but also the 17 that once graced Blackpool Central.

Birmingham Snow Hill originally had 12 platforms. There are now 3 platforms.

After 1910 I am told it consisted of two large islands each with two bays at the north end, 4 in total. Each of the long through platform faces was then subdivided by a scissors crossover - similar to Bristol Temple Meads or platforms 1 & 4 at Cambridge. It meant there were 8 through platforms.

Aberystwyth has gone down from 5 to 1 (not counting the Vale of Rheidol because it doesn’t really use much of a platform.)

Morfa Mawddach/Barmouth Junction has gone from 4 to 1 and request stop only.

Pontypridd also had more faces than it does now on the main island platform.

Does Epsom Downs count, because the current station is not on the site of the old one, but rather a little bit towards London.

I think it does.Isn't the current platform where the old station "throat" used to be anyway, so still part of the station footprint.

Anyone know what Singer was? The lost platforms there were electrified as well
Wikipedia says that the 'works' station had six 'bays' (at least at some point) but it was on a quite distinct site to the current 'main line' station that always had and retains two conventional flank platforms.

With I suspect the lowest off peak frequency in the London area - 1 tph - and that was cancelled when I went there last Autumn...

Newcastle Central lost the old bay platforms 1 to 6. The new island makes up for some of the loss.
