Manchester Oxford Rd Info Point/Costa

Ok. I admit I haven't spent any amount of time at Oxford Rd since May. But when did the Info point next to Platform 5 get turned into a Costa?

Has the info point moved or has it just been eliminated entirely?

Costa opened today, the info point (or supervisors office as it was) has been removed.

The information point closed several weeks ago. I do not know where the staff and anything else that was in there are now based.

Unlike Vic, there were no staff employed full time to man the desk so I guess that made life easier. Arriva's mantra is that mobile information (they gave us all a phone) is the way forward. Similar plans for the booking offices - IE closing them an having people outside "to make the staff more approachable" are in the offing.

Great idea really, and lots of space to create a micro pub for a station!

Well, given that many travellers at Oxford Rd have a lot of waiting around to do, and that Northern never have any useful info to provide, this sounds like a sensible swap
