Just a reminder to all mk3 preservationists..... ,
Contact Wolverton if you want your coach to have comfy, reclining seats with matching tables and trim and 1980s - 2000s ambience in your vehicles ! Once its gone, its too late..... .

Any news on when the two buffets are coming cause I can't wait to see them at Long Rock?

I believe all the berths are refurbished now (but I could be wrong!) You can get in the Lounge from 10:00, sleeper boarding from 10:40. snacks and drinks (usually wine too) in the Lounge. Not sure about the onboard menu, but I don't think there is very much.
No wine when I last used it in April! But a double g&t priced at a single crisp fiver apiece with a little bag of crunchy crisps tempted me to more than make up for it onboard. Try again in a couple of weeks!

What’s the story to ‘Gilbert Road’ & ‘New Walter Siding’?

A few pages back, a request for the depot plan was made so have finally managed to do one. Includes point and signal numbers of you magnify.View attachment 54922

Just an observation- the signal on the east end reception line should read PZ65. SE65 signal is at St Erth.

Wish I could have witnessed 1A40 (2145 Penzance to Paddington) getting some help from the RHTT last night after it slipped to a stand near Bodmin. 1A40 177 minutes late leaving Liskeard.

1x Mk III RFM 10229 should be moving from Crewe to Reading this Thursday, either a ROG 37 or GWR 57.

5V74 09.29 Crewe CS to Reading TCD.

1A40 expected to be a possible late start of 2 hours due to the failure of the booked 57. 57306 passed Dawlish at 2140 en route from Reading to work it. this has left no loco available to work the stock for 1C99 to Paddington so will start Reading.

Ouch. Will the damage to the front panel be repaired straight away? Looks like there’s a few days work there?
If they do stop it then all four GWR 57s would be out of traffic. The DRS hire in does function.

Yes I was wondering about that. A pretty awkward time for this to have happened.
I’ve got some strong mole grips to bend that lamp iron back into position if you need them Paul? ;)

From an armchair point of view, if I were the driver involved I do think it was fortunate that this was a class 47/57 cab and not a HST as surely the damage sustained would have been rather more severe? On the subject of drivers I would hope he was ok and not injured in any way? Can't be a pleasant experience to suddenly see a large tree illuminated in the headlight that is blocking your path with absolutely nothing you can do but sit there and hope for the best ! :o

I note that last night the original plan to use the 08 to drag the ECS to Reading station for the down sleeper was shelved because of a possession on the higher numbered platforms that was scheduled to start before 1C99 would depart. The train locomotive 57603 instead took the ECS to Southall, where it ran round and returned to Reading to allow the stock to sit in a lower numbered platform at Reading that wasn't part of the possession.
