Can anyone throw any light on buses in service on Pz Promenade about 17.15 today? An 11 to Rosehill Meadows and a 5 to Sheffield both passing Jubilee Pool EASTBOUND, both with passengers on board and, at that stage, must have been heading back into the centre of Penzance: conversely, a Tinner on the A17 heading westbound, destination unknown (one of two Tinners on that route today).

Another strange one from last Friday. A Mousehole Solo oos, driven by a driver, not a fitter, passing along Newlyn Strand and then straight across into Newlyn Coombe. I can only think it was, for some reason, going back to depot via the By-Pass.

Uni E400 33421 and Dart 42874 on Tinner services today.
Ironically, there was a Tinner on U1/U2 services today, although a Tinner oftens helps out the Uni fleet during Uni terms on U1-U4 services. A green East Lancashire Lolyne also on U1/U2 services today.

Methinks FSW have been catching up on some ancient disposals. According to the official First fleet changes lists for November these have 'left the fleet.' 42469/76/725/842 48232/3/4/66 50236 53011. Surely these went long ago. Also 48270/1/2/3 have gone according to the list.

An update for those who haven't seen the facebook page yet.

20801 - 5 are all up in Anston, Yorkshire for a refurb, and will eventually replace some of the old Irizar coaches along with four newer coaches which are joining the fleet in 2019.

42871 - 6 along with 42942 are going to be replaced by the new Solo SRs, with 42942 going to Somerset and the others being sold on. If the six 53 plates aren't sold in time they'll be used for parts or they'll be scrapped.

The way I interpret the Facebook post 20801 has gone for refurbishment not the whole batch of 20801 - 20805.

Interestingly 42469,42476,48233,48234,50236,53011 are vehicles which the PSV Circle has not published a disposal I believe. Have they been lurking somewhere in deepest Cornwall!?

Maybe some were sold as motorhomes, or Dan stored some for ages in Winkleigh?

V832DYD - 48232 was recently scrapped from winkleigh, but there aren't any others as far as I know. I'll try asking around and see what happened to the other two.

I do know that a sister of 53011 is being used for the man engine (53013), though I really don't know what happened to any of the others including 011.

@busKernow whereabouts was it mentioned? I might know someone who'd be interested

I’d heard rumours there was a location storing a number of withdrawn vehicles somewhere. No idea where or what though. I’m led to believe this information was incorrect ‘enthusiast gossip’ though. I’d be pretty certain those vehicles were disposed of.
They’re certainly not lurking in any Kernow depot or Winkleigh.

Simple answer to that is they’ve been shown as withdrawn but still owned on the First lists until just now and no contrary information has come to light.

YN16CFU is currently parked up in Taunton depot, anybody know what it's doing there?

Not sure, it was on rail replacement services in Bristol last month. Previous to that I think it was with Somerset Passenger Solutions and of course it had a spell on trial in Cornwall before that.

All three Mousehole Solos were in Camborne about an hour ago, none in service. Volvo B7TL 30880 still in urban is VOR with recently repainted 30879 in use yesterday.

Posted here because it doesn't sit well in the First South West and Wales thread is that:

Scania coach 23014 based at Bridgwater has been re-registered at some stage from MIG9614 to its original registration YN04AJX.
Dennis Trident 32818 based at Bridgwater has been re-registered at some stage from OIG1788 to its original registration T818LLC.

I see that the M6 was reduced to hourly yesterday afternoon. It must only be a matter of time before the traffic commissioner starts taking an interest.

That's interesting, because at the very same time a bus of the same type, without the special livery, was working the 16 - well, I take it that it was a 16, but the 1 was missing from the blind. St Ives via Halsetown, and spotted at Sainsbury's, suggests a 16. All of two passengers on board. Of course, somebody has to report it to the T.C. as they tend not to be proactive, particularly with the major groups.

It's not the first time that's happened. Given the terrible reliability of the Mousehole Solos they really need a permanent standby vehicle. The current situation is just killing the route.
