Just got an email advising same.

Reinstatement of Stirling and Falkirk direct services to London. We’re getting in touch to let you know that we will be reinstating our early morning and evening direct Stirling and Falkirk Grahamston services to and from London King’s Cross from 9 December 2018. As before, the southbound service will depart Stirling at 05.26, calling at Falkirk Grahamston at 05.42, Haymarket at 06.13 and Edinburgh at 06.26 then onwards, arriving into London King’s Cross at 10.49. The evening northbound service will depart London King’s Cross at 15.00, calling at Edinburgh at 19.25, Haymarket at 19.30, Falkirk Grahamston at 19.59, arriving into Stirling at 20.16. During the short-term suspension of the service, we’ve been busy making reliability improvements to our train fleet, to improve the performance of LNER train services across the east coast route. We are delighted to reinstate these services as we know they provide a valuable link between Stirling and Falkirk and the other destinations we serve along the east coast. We look forward to seeing you on board our trains soon. Kind regards The LNER Team

Some Stirling work from LNER to reinstate these services.

(Sorry, couldn’t resist)

Are the ditched Leeds services coming back too?

Their press release this evening only mentioned Stirling.

I’ve been told that a 91 & mk4 set will be going to Stirling on December the 10th but I don’t know if that means E03 and S22 will be electric from then on.

Seems odd for a couple of reasons, I didn’t think the trains were cleared for Falkirk. The platform is short and mk4s don’t have SDO. (Or do they?). I thought the hst had grandfather rights.

The short platforms on the Skipton run are coped with by locking Coach B out of use north of Leeds.

Thanks. I did think a mk4 set operated on a short platform but wasn’t sure. Same with haymarket, I don’t recall them stopping there southbound pre platform extension.

LNER stated on twitter (can't find it now) that the services would remain HST-operated for the time being.

HST operated for now.

Sure there'll be a MK4 ECS test run in due course.

The cancellation of some Kings Cross - Leeds services, which came into force at the same time as the cancellation of the through Stirling service, is to continue until at least 29th January 2019.
