Two entries for Stagecoach South West on the VOSA Bus Service registrations for 11-Dec-2018:

PH1020951/75 Registered (Short notice)
STAGECOACH DEVON LTD
Route: Exeter to Newton Abbot
Service number: 39 (39)
Service type: Normal Stopping
Effective date: 06 Jan 2019

PH1020951/315 Registered (Short notice)
STAGECOACH DEVON LTD
Route: Newton Abbot to Torquay
Service number: 39T (39)
Service type: Normal Stopping
Effective date: 07 Jan 2019

Wonder what route this 39T will take? Using the same route as Service 12 would seem an unlikely bet but I wonder if it might be a direct route, via. Barton Road and St. Marychurch Road, between Newton Abbot and Torquay perhaps with a deviation through Newtake Estate?

Also I wonder if some of Exeter's new Enviro200 MMCs may be deployed on these routes?

HTIOI,
Dave

Unlikely as Torquay depot run the 39 Monday to Saturday. Also the new Enviro200s are on I/J/K/T routes in Exeter.

I would like those stops to be kept as they are the closest to where I work, I'm often not the only person getting off there as well.

I wasn't too sure about the new buses to start with as the first one I went on seemed to vibrate like an old Solo while idling, plus the stop/start takes some getting used to, but since then I've had a few trips and I've come to appreciate the supportive seats and fairly smooth ride.
I reckon you could put a stop next to, and opposite the Toby Carvery for Middlemoor.

It would help if all the people asking for bus stops in Exeter please can you contact Devon County Council. Cheers

Thanks Walrus. I contacted DCC in September (soon after the service started) and again in November regarding lack of Middlemoor stops on the I/J route, but I have yet to receive a reply. Am going to contact my local County Councillor next.

15638 SF10CCU of Gloucester depot is in a livery to celebrate 25 years of Stagecoach West. Whilst it's 25 years since Western Travel was bought I believe the divisions only arrived in 2001 and it's never been an actual company, just a Stagecoach management reporting structure.

I suppose 25 years since Stagecoach bought the Cheltenham and Gloucester Omnibus company or 25 years since we removed local identities from your buses dosent have the same ring to it!

I don’t get why they used 10 reg buses when they could have used one of the VX13, the unbranded YN14 and for Swindon one of the YP14 reg ones?

Wikipedia has a list of 6 buses that are, apparently, receiving this livery:
Cheltenham-Scania E400 15451-MX08GHY
Gloucester-Scania E400 15638-SF10CCN (Completed)
North Bristol-ADL E200 36382-VU11BUP
Ross on Wye-Scania E400 15733-VX61FKG
Stroud-ADL E400 19128-VX07CYT
Swindon-Scania E400 15648-VX10FRK (Completed)

I wrote to Stagecoach and suggested a new Toby Carvery stops for the H many years ago. No response. Could be that Devon County Council Highways believe it would be too close to the roundabout and/ or pedestrian crossing.

Hi,
Noted at Newton Abbot today were E200s 36221 on a 39 to Exeter at 1345 and 36223 on the 39 Bovey shorts. Two drivers were conversing prior to the departure of the 1345 service and I could tell they were talking about the E200 driving capabilities. Which led me to think that some of this type have recently been allocated to Torquay depot for use on this route.
Can anyone on here confirm this hunch of mine please.
Many Thanks,
Mike R

Hi,
A little odd only 3 were transferred as 39 utilises 4 vehicles, 3 for Exeter journeys and 1 for the Bovey shorts. With the 88 remaining as Solos I suppose the remaining Early Darts work in Torquay only now?

One 39 car working is booked as a decker, usually a 15 series Scania Enviro400.

I noticed yesterday that Stagecoach are still operating the 515 (Stockwood to Hartcliffe); it was supposed to transfer to BCT at the beginning of this week.

The change is this weekend according to Traveline and Stagecoach's website. Same date as the rest of their changes.

The BCT website says the 19th, though :s

And the timetable display at Hengrove Park, which is dated 6th January, already shows it as run by BCT!
