Noticed 67023 on a 60 the other day. Today 67023 on a 2. By comparison the next 2 was 66347.

Perhaps Caledonia are short for the 2 so they are just using new buses. They are branded so presumably they are for somewhere.

The 2 is normally upgraded with newer buses every 4 years from what I can recall throughout the years. For selfish reasons it would be nice to have some new stock on the 2 again. Although the E200s are only 3 years old.

The 60 has been a bit of a mess recently. Mainly singles on the route which is a mix of mainly B7RLEs and lots of B7Ls.

I thought the new 200s could be for the 64 but they are full size ones .

2 could do with deckers .

Pink 68 plate E300 on the 60 tonight, first one I’ve seen. Is this what they’re supposed to look like or is there branding text missing? Also noticed the old E400s seem to be spreading their wings onto the various 38s etc

I dont understand why the E400s dont stay on the 6 , low height deckers are intended for the 6 . Loads of singles on the 6

The 64 is running around with tattered looking B7Ls at the minute.

I think singles run well on the 2 it’s peak time that’s the issue. They could be using E400MMCs alongside the pro dominant single deckers. It has such a high frequency so it’s not a huge issue and I use the 2 often.

Could capacity have dropped on the 6? I mean I doubt it but can’t think why else this appears to be a regular occurrence. Would be nice to see the 6 get some new low height deckers.

Very rare spotted an EO02 plate Solo on the 2 to Airdrie tonight. They must be short on the 2 hence the new E200s

I had no idea the 6 had a low bridge on route.

The 2 could operate on a slightly lesser frequency with deckers around the clock.

Off-topic again, but for those wondering about Coakley's (latterly t/a Mackenzie Bus Service), several of the ex-Warrington Marshall Capital-bodied Darts have been noted in the Campbell's scrapyard in Alexandria, nr. Balloch. Given that vehicles that enter that yard tend to be processed rather quickly, I suspect that they'll not last the year out.

Strong rumour that First are registering a service from Holytown to Hamilton via mossend, Bellshill, burnhead, birkenshaw, uddingston and bothwell to replace the coakley service

I believe it may be the low bridge at Busby station.

Looking on google maps the height limit there is 13'9" (4.2M), which is the exact same height as the E400MMCs on the 18 & 75. Confusingly the examples on the 75 have HB (high bridge) fleet numbers despite clearly being low height models. However the 65 plates are full height examples at 14'1" (4.3M).

A couple of the 18s have also got HB on them. I thought when the 75s were High Bridge initially when they had it on them.

The 18s with HB on them are part of the 75 batch

It looks like the first batch have the HB fleet numbers, but they noticed the error and didn't repeat it on the second batch? None of the new E400s are full height models, that i'm sure of!

No they were originally meant to be for Caledonia for the 75 so carry the HB so they are not allocated to the 6

This artical is saying 20 charging points will be installed at Caledonia depot for electric buses which may mean service m3 my operate out Caledonia rather than Scotstoun depot

I must say I fully support the statement that Glasgow must adapt to “bus prioritisation”. Glasgow City Centre is built appallingly for buses. Better mesasures should be introduced with more bus lanes, no car zones etc. For a start I’d be turning Argyle Street into a straight bus lane and avoiding buses travelling down Stockwell Street. This would in turn speed up journeys majorly. I find bus journeys are so slow because there is no priority so it’s just easier to take the car.

Hi all, does anyone have details on how to contact the Traffic Commissioner?

I am reading with interest your comments on the ( now non-existent ) 107/109 Service that Coakley used to run.

As I understand it they still have the licence to operate this service until 31st Jan 2019. As a regular ( daily ) passenger on this service I can confirm that as of the 8th Dec Coakley chose to take this service off. I appreciate that we still have the 235/236 running for passengers ( like myself ) from Holytown to Bellshill, but this is an hourly service which means that in the morning I am looking at 7:25 ( a little earlier than the 109 was ) but the problem is the evening where they leave Bellshill at 17:10 but the next one is 18:25. I leave work in Shawhead at 17:00 and there is no way I'm in Bellshill for the 17:10 so it's either work late or walk from Bellshill to Holytown.

I'd like the Traffic Commissioner's view on what ( if anything ) they can do to get another Operator ( like First Bus or JMB as some of you have suggested ) to take on this route. SPT have blanked me so far.

Cheers and thanks for any comments on this.

The traffic commissioner wouldn’t be able to get another operator to operate the service this would be for the SPT however the problem here is Coakley still hold the registration for the service but are just not fulfilling it this I know is hindering any operator from taking on the service as there is definite interest in doing so.

A quick google search should give you contact details for the commissioner.

Its the going round the houses , Argyle St , Queen St , Ingram st and glassford st . If you get on a 6 at the top of the town and its busy it can take half an hour to get to St Enochs at busy times

Used to stay in Busby , few buses have got stuck , when Scotstoun done the 18 and before the A726 bypass as built , emptys coming back from EK .Seen a VO and Gemini parked up in station car park. Though its lorries that get stuck mostly , once a lorry shed its load of Lucozade and local residents could help themselves
