On this evening's Hull Executive just been handed a voucher for 30% off my next three journeys with LNER. That'll come in handy. Might ask others if they want theirs.

And today an email from LNER with 1,500 free Nectar points (£7.50) for me.

Afternoon peak are also blocked out despite the terms only saying morning peak is blocked. How is it SWR are even incapable of advertising an offer correctly!

Oh a promotion return fare! I didn't know that is what was meant.
Well, two singles still make a return right?

Not really as those are advance singles valid only on the trains selected, compared to the promotional return fares which are only restricted in time.

You mean they are flexible tickets that can be used on any train on a specific day?

The £12 promotional day returns are valid on any SWR service after 09:59 during the week (and at all times at weekends). The one way tickets you selected are advances valid on that booked train only

Via Money Saving Expert, another go at the Skyscanner £5 discount for new users:

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-train-tickets/#needtoknow-5

Skyscanner are offering £3 off any UK rail tickets costing £15 or more when referred by a "friend" (referrer also gets £3 and they don't charge any booking fees). I can refer anyone who is interested who is interested as I'm sure many other members here can. :D

EDIT: Just noticed there is a better offer posted above. £5 off with code MSEDEC.

Skyscanner now seemed to have removed the facility to buy rail tickets from their app.

Pretty clear that the times of January seat sales are over. Nothing from any of the companies that used to do them. Orders from DafT?

I'm sure GWR had a "January Sale" that was bookable in December last year as I remember booking a 1st Class jaunt to London in the New Year. (2017/18)
