They should, and I understand it was originally in scope to be added as they go through Brush, but ScotRail took it out of the scope. They should've got that in the first place.

Gee a long run to Aberdeen with no speedo.
It' be in the rear cab if it was turned at Inverkeithing as was suggested. Would be the logical choice given it was a train loaded with passengers. Only reason not to would be traincrew knowledge.
LNER team would take one look at an ATP speedo and associated kit and go "what is that?"And in the front for the return journey .It's possible the east coast guys in Aberdeen could get it fixed for the then.

Fault horn as I seem to remember. That press run was a shambles. I seem to remember the train went faulty at Leuchars and was severely delayed.
All sorted before it left.
How utterly predictable. It just exposes ScotRail's lack of knowledge.
You'll be telling us next that ScotRail want the Brush electronics upgrade which includes a new Knorr-Bremse wheelslip control system that extends overhaul periods by about 100,000 miles.
Errrrr! Not quite
It's been activated (as of 11:10); given that it's a manual activation rather than an automatic one (i.e. 2 hrs before) I'm quite hopeful...If it runs there should be an 5S03 1425 Doncaster Wabtec to Perth with the 2nd refurbished HST set.....

But seeing the entirely empty first class coach has made me wonder something else: 1 out of 4 coaches is first class. That's a ratio that I've only seen before on Voyagers. Once the refurbs are done, and the seating returns to a sensible density, will the number of standard-class seats on a 4-car HST set actually be significantly greater than on a 170? Would hate to have all this disruption and not fix the overcrowding...
For refurbished sets:
2+4: 32 First, 206 Std
2+5: 32 First, 280 Std
An "Express" 170/4 seats:
18 First, 172 Std
So a 2+4 has 34 extra Std, a 2+5 108. Both having 14 additional First Class seats.
Ah, thanks. So there is an improvement, albeit not a very big one for a 2+4. I look forward to the refurbs!
Good news, it's been a long time coming. The formation of today's movement is

Yep, nine 4-car sets to be delivered first, followed by seventeen 5-car.Yes, a moderate improvement in purely terms of capacity with a 2+4, but I believe eventually most sets will be 2+5.
It seems to have dispensed with the scheduled dinner break at Millerhill and is already on the Sub, so it's now ahead of time.
Thanks for that.41038 is 40602.
Do you know if the 4 car sets will also eventually be increased to 5 car, or will they remain 4 car?Yep, nine 4-car sets to be delivered first, followed by seventeen 5-car.

They'll remain as 4 car, though I believe that it's still the plan to form up two 2+6 sets from December 2022, with the corresponding reduction in number of 4 and 5-car sets by one apiece. That's assuming that Wabtec can get the initial order delivered by then!Do you know if the 4 car sets will also eventually be increased to 5 car, or will they remain 4 car?
