Does anybody know where 92022 is? I know it is a spares donor but I'm not sure whether it's in Croatia with Transagent Rail or still with DB, or is somewhere else entirely.

With all due respect, that is pretty meaningless. Most of the exported 92s show the same, for example 92005 does, even though we know it has been sold to LocoTech and is operating in Croatia.

As for 92022, it is believed to be in Bulgaria.

"92022 arrived in 2017 unfit for traffic and after assessment at Podujane was duly dumped inside Pirdop Works as a Christmas tree / waste of space!"

Well, that's sad. It was my favourite one because I got a model of it when I was little.

I wonder how Elgar (009) is doing. I never had a model of it but I always looked at it in a little Hornby product book.

It does feel slightly disappointing as that's one of the earlier examples of the class I can remember seeing; the handful fitted with cast nameplates always stood out as being slightly different.

I can also recall looking at the catalogue image of 92009 in the little Hornby book back in the mid-nineties, though I never owned a model class 92 myself.

Impressive to see that they're all still fitted with cast BR double arrows on the cabsides and Crewe Electric depot plaques.

If I had enough money I'd buy 92022 and restore it. Of course, I don't have that money. I don't think many people do.

The other option would be to build a new 92022 but now that's just me being tired.

Still, it's sad news for me.
