Sleeper loco failed in Reading station after detachment from the up sleepers. Platform 10 partly blocked.
Either 57604 or 57605.
This move shown after reversal at Didcot North Junction with 57602, I believe the other loco was 57604. Confirmation appreciated.View attachment 57794
Cheers for that.Correct. 57604 on the far end.
Now appears to be sat 13 Apr. Railtour expected too (68).Regarding the depot open day I was told it will take place on Saturday 13th April, is that correct?
The bus running day is on Sunday 21st April.
I was hoping they would take place on the same weekend.

10232 was sat spare in Reading TCD on Saturday. Is that going to get refurbished as well?White buffet 10229 shunted out of set today, now as spare. This means tonights service, both 1A40 and 1C99 will be made up of 100% refurbished stock for the first time.
No it isn’t - the final coach to be refurbished is already in the works as per posts #1162 and #1169 above.10232 was sat spare in Reading TCD on Saturday. Is that going to get refurbished as well?
232 is now off lease. Any takers for preservation are urged to contact Porterbrook directly and soon !10232 was sat spare in Reading TCD on Saturday. Is that going to get refurbished as well?
And advised that they need deep pockets - it's knackered.232 is now off lease. Any takers for preservation are urged to contact Porterbrook directly and soon !
Got good interior though if it will help with spares .And advised that they need deep pockets - it's knackered.
That said, anyone wanting a modern kitchen/buffet would be advised to have a look - those in Long Marston are at least as bad, and mostly in worse condition. Not many RFMs left now though....
I haven't been following the thread vehicle wise but concentrating on the locomotive aspect but I have a little query. The consist of 1A40 last night showed vehicle 6348 (barrier ? ) next to the loco (57306) and am just wondering the thinking behind. Will look forward to an explanation, thanks.
Coupling translators for move of HST stock to Long Marston planned for later in the week.Got shunted out of the set today, coupled to the other barrier vehicle then 57604 took them both to SPM (5F74 Reading TCD - SPM) then deposited them there and returned Light Engine to Reading as it’s the pilot loco for 5C99 tonight.
Overhaul? But at Derby RTC/ Loral.I see that 57603 went on a trip to the midlands yesterday, any ideas what for?
