They won't, because as samuelmorris notes in the post above yours, half of the four services per hour through York will be worked by class 68s and mark 5s.

What I meant was they will be a daily sight not a literal 1 for 1 sighting.

So, what are/were the mileage targets and how far along are the TPE 802s ()?

TPE Class 802 201+202 passing Alderley Edge last night:

Nice work; could you see if the pantographs were up?

they appear to be up to me :)
Pantograph seems to be up with lights/monitoring equipment also on.
Can these run on diesel with the pantograph raised, or does pan up definitely mean electric running?

At Alderley Edge, last Friday, the Pantographs were up and the engine was off

802 201 is sitting in Hull Paragon this morning. The first time I've seen a Class 800 of any ToC or variant and I have to say, they look really nice.

Assuming the 802 arrived on 5Q94 from Doncaster Carr depot, Realtimetrains is showing 5Q95 0914 Hull - Kings Cross this morning so looks like it is having a trip to Kings Cross (bit off route for TPX!) Currently around Newark. It then returns from Kings Cross on 5Q96, the 1248 departure back to Doncaster. Is this for mileage accumulation?

That sounds like it could be a timing trial or something similar for sister First Group operation Hull Trains, ahead of them receiving their own sets.

They look fantastic. The fluorescent blue with black colour scheme really suits the TPE 397s and 802s.

I think it is one of the nicest liveries around. It'd suit a rusty 142 if it came to it.

Don't say that, you'll give grayling ideas

Probably lengthen the TPE fleet by scrapping the Nova's and tagging a pacer to the back of every 185...

With Hull Trains having a lot of difficulties with their Class 180s, is it feasible that some of the TPEX examples might start their careers at Hull Trains until their own 802s are ready?

Given the level of overcrowding on TPE, I can see it being rather unpopular to defer their introduction where they are desperately needed to help an open access operator, regardless of the shared ownership.

Not a chance. Can you imagine the DfT reaction if stock procured for a franchised operator was late into traffic because it was bailing out an open access service?

Given that Chiltern got into a lot of trouble for meeting its franchise obligations by way of a "contract" to WSMR, which is a far less serious offence as it, unlike this, didn't actually cause any disadvantage to passengers, I think this would be a "serious breach penalties" situation, so isn't going to happen.
