One has been offered to Bo'ness but they are presently unable to take it by all accounts.

Anyone know which unit, if any, has been earmarked for preservation? I imagine it would be the unit determined to be in the best condition.

Did 210 get stopped the other night?

I suspect that one of the other Yoker 314s may well head to Glasgow Works Thu or Fri as there will be a 320 move to and from the works Fri or Sat I think

It has a Local Working restriction but isn't MO; at the moment 208 is the only MO 314.

I was passing through Glasgow at lunchtime today and saw quite a few 314’s.

314201, 314206 and 314209 were stabled at shields, 201 was stabled next to the withdrawn 206. Both had their pantographs down.

Has 314201 been seen running since 28/12/18? If not then its last working was the 07:55 Neilston to Glasgow on that date.

Just passing Shields there, managed to spot 201 though a gap in the other units, looking like it needs the blowers turned on. Probably likely that it has been withdrawn. I thought it would have been a candidate for a retro re-paint/possible preservation.

214 on 1342 to Paisley Canal today. The same unit arrived in Central at 1523 on the 1505 from Paisley C and was scheduled to depart at 1620 to Newton via Queens Park.

202 & 208 double-headed on the Neilston express tonight. I'll miss hearing every nuance of the units traversing over the track. You just don't get that on the 380/385s.

314 move apparently now cancelled as 212 not disposed of yet (thanks to scot-rail)

I would have thought if they left the gates open one night, the local neds would have it dismantled in no time, probably with free disposal to an off-site location.

Rather disappointing that Scotrail seemingly don't have time to run a farewell tour (as I've heard it reported) :(

I'm going to use this as an opportunity to rant about the lack of engagement of the Riverside Museum on any significant large scale exhibits from anything later than the 1930s. Okay, only two out of five on my list are trains:

- no Blue Train/303
- no Alexander Y Type
- no Volvo Ailsa
- no Macbraynes Streaker tied up outside
- and now we can be guaranteed, no 314

Does anyone know why they're neglecting the past 50 years in the way that they are?

303048 was to be preserved in the Museum of Transport when it was at Yorkhill until asbestos were discovered on the unit at some point in the mid-90s which forced the scrapping of the historic unit. Around 2011 there was some talk of preserving Jupiter at the Riverside Museum, but for some reason this idea quickly fell through and the old girl was shamefully scrapped.

As nice as it would be to see a 314 preserved at the Riverside Museum, I can’t help but think there’s neither the will nor the means to make it happen.
