Interesting range. The 117 and 121 will clearly be a huge jump on the rather questionable quality of the old Lima ones, and the 414 is a welcome addition to the growing range of Southern Electric models. I'd have killed for one of those when I was a kid!

There are a whole load of models they have announced previously that are still waited which largely explains why the only new tooling they have announced this year (and which presumably will not appear this year) is a HKA Bogie Hopper Wagon. The 410 was announced in 2017 so is relatively a youngster in the awaited models; of those they actually intend to produce this year only the ROD 2-8-0 (presumably a tweak or a copied tweak of the GCR 2-8-0) and the 159 (as its a tweak on the 158) are more recent having been announced last year. The 24/1 and 158 were announced in 2013, the 90 in 2014, the J72, 117 and 121 in 2015, and the 414 in 2016. The same goes for rolling stock with the Warflat (2013), 45T Ransomes & Rapier Breakdown Crane (2014) and Parrot bogie flat (2018) expected to be produced this year.
They have indicated that they are currently expecting engineering prototypes of the MR 0-4-4T (2017), 94xx (2015) and Class 20/3 (2017) so those will presumably enter production next year.

EDITED - To correct date of announcement of the 159
Correction - Turns out the 2015 J72 announcement was a new chassis for the old Mainline body but the new body was a 2018 announcement.

The 90 is apparently due in April (90005 'Financial Times' BR InterCity Swallow and 90037 BR Railfreight Distribution Sector) with 90042 Freightliner Powerhaul following May . The ROD 2-8-0s are due in July and the J72s , Warflats and Parrots in August. October is the expected release of the 45T crane and the 24/1s in December. Seems that the production of the multiple units (117,121, 158, 159 and 414) which was indicated previously as being this year will be too late to ship the models from China to reach the UK before 2020.

Although Dapol beat Bachmann to the shelves with a modern spec 4mm scale 121 (and 122) and the box-shifters are already reducing the price, indicating that Bachmann may not shift as many as it hopes?

The Dapol ones are lovely, Bachmann will really have to do something special surely to get them to sell well... I think it's as they're using the same tooling set for the 117 as the 121?

No doubt there are a number preordered by people so dealers will have some idea of the demand - never understood preordering a standard production model as IMO its always best to wait to see what actually turns up as their have been a good few lemons released which are best avoided - the Dapol OO 73 being a classic, quite why so many people have problems with the pick up arrangements on it puzzles me as it the same pick up arrangement Dapol have use on other locos without problem; I presume they have been made in a different factory to poorer tolerances. The other problem with the 73s is the livery shades and lettering sizes/ fonts which are at least very questionable on most. I was interested in the Pullman 73 that did for Gaugemaster until I saw one and my wallet stayed firmly in my pocket with the letters spacing wrong and the wrong font used for the numbers. In contrast, and ignoring the initial livery blunder on the first DRS 68s, they seem to got those 68s as right as much as the 73 are wrong.

What are the Dapol motors like compared to the Bachmann ones for example?
I'm curious because I always found Bachmann stuff to run really well, but I've never bought a Dapol model.

I wonder how that will work with royalty payments for the use of the EMT livery.
If EMT don't exist after they're out...

They are getting increasingly unaffordable. Over £200 for some dmus, and even almost £80 for some of the unpowered (hauled) coaches......

Way of the market though, Hornby HST Power Cars akin to a dmu are £289.99. Most retailers discount the manufacturers prices, quite significantly after a while,
