The GWR sets don’t have the folding vestibule seats, do they?
They do not, at least not by the disabled toilets or other vestibules I've been in.

It will be interesting to try these seats as, from those angles, it definitely looks like they have a fabric covering a little more in keeping with their existing seats on Mk3's and Mk4's, as opposed to the very flat grey fabric that came stock on GWR 800's and the slightly different feel moquette and pattern on GWR 802's (which the 800's are retroactively getting).

There also has got to be some irony in the fact those vestibule seats could have more cushion than the actual seats. May end up being the most popular seats for comfort on the entire train!

Unless they're like 345 tip-up seats, in which case they may as well be a block of wood!

The folding seats are staff seats in the area between kitchen and driving cab.

There is NO folding vestibule seats.

Those seats look rock hard. It’s a way to turn new trains into a negative story when people doing 4 hour journeys start complaining about them.

First Class looks to be a downgrade on the current VTEC/LNER refurbished sets as well.

They are the same cheap and nasty seats as in the GWR sets. Why everyone thinks that the fact the are red and have a different fabric covering will make any difference is beyond me.
Mind, the last Mk4 seat I sat in was soaked with sweat or some other bodily fluid. At least the lack of padding will minimise that problem.

The first class seats look the same as standard, just with a thin head rest attached. Does anyone know if that is the case or are they actually better than they look ? From first glance I think there are going to be lots of downgrades to standard, me for one !

Snapped 800104 at Peteroborough 15 minutes ago; the interior fitout isn't complete (but seat frames are in), and vinyls have yet to be adorned. I assume all of these cosmetic works will take place at Donny Carr.

One has just passed my Leeds-Skipton service (15:56) close to Apperley Junction headed back into Leeds. It looked unbranded so maybe the same one as snapped above?

Edit: Scratch that, according to RTT it's done at least a couple of runs up to Shipley and back to Leeds today.

The working you're harking on about is this: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/K56302/2019/02/07/advanced

Can't have been 800104 as the timings for 5X82 and 5Q87 (the working in the link) don't stack up. My odds are on it being 800201, 800202, 801101, 801102 or 2 together.

Yeah I checked RTT on arrival at Shipley. It looked like a single 5 car unit, I actually thought initially that it was a refurbished 333 until I saw the rear car flash past.

800101 and 801202 just departed Leeds in quick succession (but not in that order!).

I'm a bit puzzled with the cable interconnections (stairway to heaven). Are some cables missing from the top picture or are some coaches different.
Has a solution to the perceived potential ladder problem been found to the satisfaction of the safety nannys?

Different amount of cables along train, some carriages have 2, some 3 and I think one lot of 4 cables between carriages.

Also passed my 1703 Leeds-Ilkley around Armley- I'd go with the five-car impression as it's been using Platform 1 at Leeds, which hosts the Turbostar booked for the 1809 Knaresborough during the day.

Wasn't there talk of 800s not having fold down seats in the vestibule??

They don't have them, there was a picture on Twitter, but those seats are on the staff only area between kitchen and drivers cab.

Does anyone have an idea which services they will be used on first? Will the Scottish HST services be amongst the last to go or the first

It's the Hull executive diagram that's going first.
After that no one really knows, however with the 2020 PRM deadline approaching, I'm guessing they'll want to replace the HSTs first.
