Does anyone know if this is still running tonight from Penzance? Updates would be appreciated. Thanks.

I do not know, but it arrived inbound this morning OK, and everything else (so far!) has left on time-even the voyager for Manchester, so it is looking good I would say

Apologies if wrong place to ask but.....
What is the Night Riviera doing during February when the tunnels are getting fixed?
Is it going via Yeovil but still going all the way (I am thinking this could be a stupid question as the train needs to get home to Long Rock....)?

White buffet 10229 reverting to spare today.
Its common knowledge that an extra sleeping coach should be added every day from may but currently unconfirmed is, long term from next year, another will also be added, vehicles ex Scotrail and refurbished. This will make 6 weekday and 7 on Fri down/sun up.
Service fin/start at Plymouth this weekend due to engineering work.

The up sleeper service last night which was starting from Plymouth due to engineering work in Cornwall, was replaced by a HST. 57602 failed on Laira with a brake related issue.

What happens when a sleeper is replaced with a HST? Do the customers receive a refund on the supplement they have paid to reserve a berth? Also, how are seats allocated on the HST? Are customers who had paid for a berth allocated the First Class seats and the seated customers allocated the standard seats or is a special set made up with additional First Class carriages?

It’s lucky there are still some HSTs around, I wouldn’t be impressed if I had paid for a berth on the sleeper and an IET turned up with their seats!

Refunds and first class section. There is no contract with Hitatchi to provide cover with a 800/or 801 but the 802s are a possibility (? Nobody has clarified it to us ! ).
Unplanned, it only happens about once every two years or so.... !!

Just wondered. This begs the question what will be used in this scenario once all of the full size HSTs have gone, an 802, a mini HST, a loco hire or a cancellation?

I've skimmed my way through the last few pages and I don't think I've missed the answer to this but how far are we with the refurbishment? Has everything been given the treatment (I get the impression not)? And if not do we have a rough end date for the work?

I'm starting to think about a trip to sample the refurbished sleeper vehicles but don't want to risk being in an unfurnished vehicle (particularly since the fares seem to have shot up since I was last looking, could have sworn it used to be relative possible to get it for around £50 but now £80 seems to be the minimum)!

We have been asking the same question ! Our presentation team certainly have not been trained for an IET and I can't say about the dedicated Customer Hosts !

Oh excellent! So if I were to book for travel in a few months then barring failure of the train in it's entirety it would be a refurbished vehicle?

Both sets are wholly refurbished. We have 3 of each type of seated coach plus the white unrefurbished buffet 10229 as a temporary spare until Dec.All sleepers are done.
It has been a while since I updated the fleet status purely because its at the end of the refurb program.

That happened to me travelling from Penzance to London in 2016. It's possible of course that everything has changed!

We were given the choice of a hotel in Penzance then travel to London the following morning, or to travel in 1st on an HST which ran to the same times as the sleeper would have. Seated passengers were given seats in standard.

I chose to wait in Penzance so I'm not entirely sure what happened to the people who travelled on the replacement, although we were told they'd be given blankets and hot drinks and made as comfortable as possible. We all had to fill forms out regarding the change of service. I got a full refund (which I wasn't expecting considering they paid for bed and breakfast in the hotel in Penzance then gave me a 1st upgrade on the morning HST to London) so I'd assume everyone else did as well.
