Few E200s ready to move to Overtown

61618/19/21/22/23/24/25/52 - off fleet at Blantyre

Overtown and Dumbarton only depots running B10BLEs.

Overtowns due to be removed next week and Dumbarton's possibly not long after as few darts going. These could be Overtowns darts or the 53 plates from down south.
33097 - scrap

6 branded 242s out in service today. 1 branded 254 and 1 unbranded is also on the 254. Waiting on 4 to arrive.

My guess would be 42885-88 for Dumbarton.

Seems a lot of needless angst about First fitting ageless plates, no-one seemed to bother about Stagecoach putting X77??? plates on second hand Astromegas or McGills fitting X23 plates on some of their Darts (I think) Parks, of course, pretty much never run anything on a real plate in their core fleet, not sure about NatEx coaches

Unbranded e200s seem to sport Glasgow on the sides rather than Lanarkshire guessing due to not being Lanarkshire branded and will venture onto the 240.

32670/77, 37267/68/73

On fleet from midland bluebird to Caley.

They seemed to have stopped the First Lanarkshire branding i think .

I think because it seen as pointless . Certainly on cars with NI plates to me is kinda dodgy . Common on coaches though seen a few more normal plates on some.

Lothian are trying to remove First from West Lothian with their Lothian Country routes leaving first with less passenger numbers and needing less deckers and more singles. I reckon First's West Lothian operations could be withdrawn anytime soon

I believe they sent a few 55/06 plate b7s for them but the operation is shakey at the minute

Yeah the B10s will all be withdrawn within the next few weeks at max. All of Overtowns B10s have now went to Blantyre I believe which they are being used as spare vehicles. M8 will be getting a few this week/next week no doubt for scrap. Sad to see them go but they have served well.

All president tridents also will be withdrawn within the coming weeks. Handful of alx's will also join them.

Still some on the 46 these days too, seeing a lot of Geminis on that lately though so can't see them lasting too long...
Hope Y182 BGB will be preserved, if a B10 is to be preserved that's the best one in Glasgow...
Shame to see B10s go while we still have those ghastly dead-for-years toilet boxes going!

I would imagine 33027, 33359 and 33386 will be staying seeing as they're Euro 4 or are they getting the heave ho as well?

Euro 3 and no all presidents will be gone and a few alx

Caley

Caley b10s should be off now from what I have been told. Dumbarton is the only depot still running them full time as they haven't received anything yet to replace them with. Suppose to be darts

Both ex hutchy b10s are getting saved but one is currently a trainer

I’ll be really sad to see the B10BLEs go. I have a photo I had taken onboard 61619 back in possibly 2004 while it was operating the 62. Sad times they were always really good buses.

The ex-London stock have also been great servants. I’m not a massive fan of the tridents but when you consider their heavy use in both very busy cities like Glasgow and London - they’ve did pretty awesome. It is time to see them go, however. The trident surge in Glasgow from about 2007 onwards really did ruin the fleet for many years so it’s odd that most will be gone very shortly. Same with the ALX400s, they are dated now in comparison to the new E400MMCs. It’ll be weird not having them in Glasgow anymore. Given the ALX400s were refurbished in 2012 and repainted again last year/this year I thought they would be staying in the fleet for longer. What was the purpose of repainting them? Some of them are 15 years old at present so why the rush to get rid of them when there is much older stock on busy routes. They aren’t that far off age wise from the B7TLs.

Very nice, thought plans for 181's presevation were cancelled when she became a trainer

The majority of the B7tls are going strong, the ALXs... Not so much, makes sense to have them go, the only older stock on main routes really is the president tridents which are also going

33027, 33359 and 33386 are definitely E4, as they got fitted when they were still in London. Surprised that they wouldn't want to keep them seeing as they ok-ish emissions wise.

Does anyone know why more of the front is painted on the recent E200 MMCs for the 242 than the older ones for the 34, 65, etc. The panel directly below the windscreen is painted on the newest ones but isn't on the earlier ones.

The 53 plate ALX400s were a massive improvement on the W reg ones which originally came to Glasgow. They aren’t bad buses but it’s obvious they’re far older and noisier in comparison to the newer, modern stock that is the E400MMC.

I wonder what will start to replace them on routes like the 60 and 41 if they are scrapping them as it’s mainly made up of these buses. I know more eclipses have appeared but the route still needs deckers. Hopefully more refurbished B9TLs if there are any left.

Used the 60 a few times recently , pretty unreliable at times .

The W regs had the same seats as the Tridents .Hard . Parkhead had them . When were they withdrawn?

The ALX 400s came in the summer of 2012 and were the first buses in newer livery i think . Yeah was late 2007 for Tridents into Glasgow . Before that only ones were at Cumbernauld .

Does anyone know when the y , 51 and 02 tridents came to Glasgow?
