Does Anyone else think that the application is a bit daft or is it just me. I had an interview in 2018. The application was much better last time round. Think the DB is a bit odd

I was interviewed 30th January but not heard anything.

Hi, has anyone on here progressed beyond the first interview for Blackpool depot advertised in December?

Not heard anything either. Interview 1st week of February for Manchester Victoria. Profile on DB website still saying assessment. Emailed HR this morning. Interviewer said "should hear something in 7 - 10 days". Interview was 18 days ago.

I had the interview on the 7th February and then I've been invited to an assessment centre on Wednesday. I waited about 12 days. I've already taken a full set of assessments with the OPC 6 months ago so I don't know what's going to happen. But I'll obviously just have to go. I emailed them but had no response. I hope you hear soon.

I did indeed and the Vienna test system. Passed them both

Then I wonder why you need to sit them again, unless an enhanced pass mark is required of course, but that would only apply to the paper tests

Shocked not shocked.....Paper sifted out for Piccadilly, can’t seem to get passed the Northern initial application although I’m in a talent pool elsewhere.

I just had the dreaded email too! i'm out of the race, good luck for all those that are still in!

I had an email a few moments later though for a job at WMT as a train cleaner asking me to do some online assessments so will give that a crack!

Sorry to hear....there must be a knack to getting through the Northern sift.

With Freightliner but the assessment are both through the OPC and they've sent me the same assessment practice material. I was told that the tests would still be valid. I just wonder if Northern have an extra test in there somewhere.

It could be the written communications test?

Both mine for Picadilly and Victoria just say "application received" I've had no emails at all.

Same with my email. I was interviewed 30th January. My db status went from assessments back to application in process.

Has anyone been invited to assessment and has anyone usedctbe how to become a train driver DVD the tests are so difficult I’m putting 3-4 hours a day practice in but struggling to pass. I’m hoping the actual tests are not as difficult as the picture memory one is impossible

Don’t bother with that DVD mate all the info you could want is on here. I’d say really the only test where practice does help is the GB test. For the others I basically used the practice material the OPC sent through.

Hi, congrats on getting all the way through to medical. Can I ask what your interview was like and what's kind of questions popped up? Got my interview next month for leeds and just wanted to make sure I'm revising the right stuff
