The BBC Scotland channel is an entirely separate channel. It's not a regional opt-out, therefore no need to change regions on iPlayer.
If you were in England and wanted to watch Reporting Scotland live on iPlayer, you wouldn't be able to do so if you had the iPlayer set to your own locality. In that instance you would need to switch regions. Likewise if there's something on Inside Out that I wish to see as it's being aired, I need to switch.
ok thanks didnt realize that :D
any way found some pictures off glasgow central low low leveel station i didnt know existed

Apart from the archive footage, IMO it was a load of tosh which is something i've come to expect from these modern documentaries. It's the height of lazy journalism i.e. slap a film crew on the ground and see what happens! Pissed up Glaswegians and the inevitable goings on at the ticket machines/gates, same old garbage you see in these railway 'documentaries' all over the UK.

Very little factual or historical information given all the events that have surrounded Central since it was constructed/expanded.

you need to watch the 2nd episode. Plenty of historical info about the area.

Still very week on the historical front.

Still plenty of useless footage surrounding concerts and weekend shenanigans. It adds nothing and detracts massively. The British public are generally a disgrace at the weekend.

I'd argue it does plenty as it shows the public exactly the sort of idiots us railway staff have to contend with on a daily basis! I agree, a large majority of the travelling public at the weekend are a disgrace!

It's not a tv series aimed at railway enthusiasts - they generally never are as the viewing figures would be pretty poor and at the end of the day all the production company want to make is a show that they can sell to mainstream tv channels, in this case an ITV production commisioned by BBC Scotland.

Unfortunately those that watch this may not see it the same way as you guys do. There generally isn't any sense of shame these days.

I'm aware it's not aimed at enthusiast, but honestly who really wants to watch hours of boring platform footage.

There is a good bit of interesting footage that shows up but not expanded upon unfortunately.

That's a swear word (ITV). It was done by STV Productions for BBC Scotland.

Signs have been up around the station for the last few months advising of ongoing filming for a second series - most recently for a "Christmas Special". The main series should be 6 episodes in length just like the first.

No air date for the full second series itself yet, but the 'Christmas Special' is due on the 22nd of December at 21:00 according to the BBC website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00032nt/broadcasts/upcoming

They clocked me going down the second set of escalators heading towards Low Level and it was normal TV cameras they were using.

Must of been something special about you .

I might be in it , i walked behind a group of Scotland fans that were being filmed.

See them filming now and then in Central , on DSLRs it seems.

There’s normally a limit on the percentage of programme content which can be acquired on DSLRs, GoPros and the like, with the majority needing to be done on real ;) cameras.

Not everyone is as keen on the misuse of excessively narrow depth of field, crash zooms and missed focus as some of the camera operators in cooking programmes seem to be .

We should thank the programme commissioners for saving us from even worse excesses .

Watched the programme last night and it was pretty uninspiring and , to the best of my knowledge, the Postal Train always used platform 11 , not 10.

Series 2 starts tomorrow night (Sunday May 3rd) on BBC Scotland at 21:00:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000j05d

In this episode, heavy rainfall causes travel chaos for passengers attempting to travel south, and staff across the station pull together to help passengers reach their final destinations.

It is the first week on the job for new station tour guide Jackie, and she is trying to get to grips with the long history of Central station in time for a test run of her new tour. Meanwhile, the Blue Lagoon chip shop serves hundreds of station passengers every day, but it is a race against the clock to get the refurbished shop open in time for rush hour. Station manager Drew is on night shift as he watches over passengers heading off for a day at the races, and author Gordon Webster explains the legacy of the infamous Beeching Cuts as veterans of Central station discuss the impact of railway privatisation.

Is this a repeat? Precise sounds familiar.

No its a new series - the precise reads as follows:

First in a six-part series following the staff and passengers of Glasgow Central station. This episode sees the team deal with chaos on the concourse caused by heavy rain.

I think you may be thinking about an episode of the Paddington station series where they had a similar issue with rainwater on the concourse.

I hope that you are right, but nothing in the precise says anything about it being a new series. This is usually fairly explicitly stated - some channels annoyingly even include NEW in the programme title (which means my recorder doesn't pick it up).

My EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) gives a "first aired" date of 03/05/20. It is usually pretty accurate.

In the episode summary quoted by Beebman there's mention of the Blue Lagoon refurbishment which occurred a good while after the first series ended - so it won't be a repeat. There were also notces up in the station near the end of last year advising passengers of the filming for a new series.

Watching the programme last night, I couldn't help but wonder when/if the station will be as busy again. Also, I wouldn't imagine restoration of the tours will be a top priority in the future.

Regarding the contents, it might have been interesting to hear more from the "protesters" ( before they got too wet ) and does anybody know who the railway spokeman was who was interviewed at Bridge Street Junction ?

For those trying to watch this on iPlayer. The second series doesn't show up when searching iPlayer (only the first series). To watch it go into the iPlayer TV Guide, click on Sunday's schedule and select the programme from there.

Appeared fine for me when I searched.
I’ve only watched the first half hour so far, but it’s still up to the decent standard of the last series. I always feel sorry for staff in the situation the Virgin staff were in - trying to deal with customers frustrated at no information, when the staff know no more than the customers do. They have more patience than I’d have for some people.
