Could somebody clarify if 43079 (I have this marked as part of the batch that are going off-lease with no new home to go to) is still in service, as that is my final GW powercar that is required for haulage?

Yes, was with 078 on today's 1103 PAD - PLY apparently.
As opposed to what alternative?Paddington to Plymouth...?
That's the 3 letter code for them stations. It's easier to say.Paddington to Plymouth...?
one that doesn't comply with forum rules. As opposed to what alternative?
That's as maybe, but anyone who can't work out where PAD and PLY are in the context of GWR HSTs probably wouldn't be understanding much of what is posted regardless.one that doesn't comply with forum rules.
i worked out PAD but had to look up PLY. And I disagree, when you're so used to using abbreviations like that it's obviously easy to forget that what they mean is not always as obvious as you might think. That's as maybe, but anyone who can't work out where PAD and PLY are in the context of GWR HSTs probably wouldn't be understanding much of what is posted regardless.

- Please remember many members do not understand rail “jargon” (including acronyms, station codes and specialist terms). Such terms should be correctly defined the first time they are used; codes and abbreviations must not be made up
