Could somebody clarify if 43079 (I have this marked as part of the batch that are going off-lease with no new home to go to) is still in service, as that is my final GW powercar that is required for haulage?

Yes, was with 078 on today's 1103 PAD - PLY apparently.

Are GBRf still thinking of using HSTs for some sort of fast freight movement or has that idea been scrapped?

one that doesn't comply with forum rules.
That's as maybe, but anyone who can't work out where PAD and PLY are in the context of GWR HSTs probably wouldn't be understanding much of what is posted regardless.

i worked out PAD but had to look up PLY. And I disagree, when you're so used to using abbreviations like that it's obviously easy to forget that what they mean is not always as obvious as you might think.

It could be 070 and 197? So I'm guessing 017/174 have been stored at Ely then?
43193 and 43197 moved from Laira to Long Marston today with eight coaches (one coach in GWR green livery, all other vehicles blue).

The next set should be going tomorrow to Ely Papworth. Either 43024/025 or 43027 with stock.

Nat

43070+43087 moved some Mk3's from Laira to Long Marston today 24/3 and then ran back as 0Z43 to Laira to take another rake of Mk3's soon. Both de-named and de-vinyled.
