Shame, they request you live within 45 minutes of your chosen depot

Excuse my ignorance. But is the salary for whilst you are training and then goes up once qualified? Or is that the set salary for driver?

@OneLowban. Thanks for posting the vacancy. Does GA require enhanced or national pass? Are they strict with the 45 min distance limit?

I believe it is enhanced.

For you and those worried about the 45 mins, I am 55 mins away from where I was going to be initially based and got accepted.

So I’d say if you’re around an hour give it a go.

I put an application in for this, passed enhanced tests June last year. Was just curious though. The advert had Ipswich, but when I applied it didn’t have Ipswich as a preferred depot option??

Did it have all stations? I seem to remember choosing stations that were close to me but GA didn’t even have a Depot there?

Is it really enhanced? Thought it’d be national.
I did my assessments with Arriva but when I applied for GA they had to ‘check that my test scores were to their standard’.

I’m an hour and 10 mins so gonna obviously give it a miss but if I was 53 mins then I would certainly be going for it.

Has anyone else logged into their application, to check the progress? Was just going over my application and noticed it states ‘application score’ at the top of the application.... anyone else know what this means??

OneLowban, how long did it take you with GA, from application to actually starting the course?

Sorry I can’t answer that as I did my assessments with ARL, I only had a DMI with GA.

From application to DMI was a month then the DMI to starting it was just over 2 months.

Wow that was quick! I've done all my assessments with GTR and have been waiting and waiting and waiting.

I've passed everything, MMI, DMI and the medical. Sadly no courses were available this year.

Yes I've put my application in for this one, so fingers crossed! Thanks for putting the link on here as I didn't get the job alert on email for some reason.

Ah right I see! Best of luck with either then.

No worries, yeah most job alerts are useless I’ve found, signed up to all of them and received none.

I applied last April for this very job. Completed and passed stage 1 in November and am still waiting for stage 2, as I believe are others. We were told earlier in the year that stage 2 would be March, but then nothing.
So I am a little confused as to why they have put another advert out. Seemingly with a salary significantly lower than when they listed it last year.

at what stage did you complete the medical? was it on the day of the mmi?
