@FGW_DID I appreciate this is a bit of an open-ended question, but do you know what the diagrams are looking like over the Easter weekend yet? That's going to be my best opportunity to get out for a few last rides before May 18th so some pointers would be very much appreciated.

Just would like to thank all contributors posting here with information about HST booked services and especially those "extra" HST'S covering an iet diagrams like today's 1336 Cheltenham service. This is very helpful.

Gosh 11 months have passed since this thread has been started and have taken a trip down memory lane reading the early posts. Very stark now the HST rundown compared to when this thread started.
Really going to miss the IC125's especially the quality of the interiors in 1st class and the buffet car as well as the smooth rides. Paddington station will not be the same without those HST power cars starting up!

Must make an effort after Easter to travel on 1C82 13.03 and savour the experience of the excellent Pullman lunch service and come back on its return 1A96 16.57 ex Plymouth.
Thanks again to everybody providing information here as I have been known to wait for a proper train rather than taking the next one!

I thought there were no more Cotswold line HST's or have GWR decided to run them on the 18th May specially because it will be the last day of HST operation with GWR?

Is the 1803 PAD PLY going to be the HST Farewll railtour, and if so, will it have the following calling pattern:

Bristol Temple Meads -London Paddington - Oxford - Worcester - Hereford - Abergavenny - Carmarthen - Gloucester - London Paddington - Plymouth

Any information is greatly appreciated. This calling pattern has come from the Railway Herald website.

That tour is a stand-alone ticket-only tour on the 1st June. Tickets go on sale for those attending the Long Rock open day this weekend. The details on https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2019/03/ticket-details-for-class-43-locomotive-farewell-tour.html and the other article they have explain it fairly well, though exact details are still a little thin on the ground (locos, pricing, etc). The diagrams above are the last scheduled 2+8 HST's in regular service :)

Just booked myself onto one of the four alleged HST's into Paddington, fingers crossed the information is correct!

OK. Thanks. I can't believe that only last year I took a ride on a HST and didn't think twice about it, but now they are the most exciting things to see on the network!

I booked on the 18.03 when Rail said this was the last HST. Intended to change the booking for another day (couldn't get a reservation on the 18.30) but hadn't yet, so pleased to see that the 18.03 will be HST and one of the last four. That will do for me.

My bold just to emphasise that these are stated to be provisional diagrams not the final copy!

I'm planning to to get a Thames and Branches for the 18 May as it will get me on any set I wish out of Paddington.

How many HSTs will be on lease on 18/05?
I would think that's rather hard to say as you may find there could be some retain power cars in that mix. If 002 and 185 are there that will at least be two out of a possible eight power cars.

Anyone got the diagrams for saturday the 11th ?

STP diagrams not released yet.

That's clear - but what are the underlying LTP diagrams by then?

There is a near normal service to the West Country that day. Friday night presumably has two HSTs at Plymouth and one in Penzance (or the other way round) based on the LTP diagrams for Fridays. STPs off St Philips Marsh are a different matter.

That’s the LTP diagrams, there are no other! The IET switchover is all being handled via the STP diagrams issued weekly.

Seems possible (but only amateur opinion based on RTT) - do you reckon it does this? It needs an assumption that 5C22 doesn't run from North Pole.

5A75 0315 Laira T.& R.S.M.D. to Plymouth
1A75 0540 Plymouth to London Paddington
1G21 1015 London Paddington to Cheltenham Spa
1L58 1300 Cheltenham Spa to London Paddington
1C22 1630 London Paddington to Paignton
2E57 2044 Paignton to Exeter St Davids
5P50 2132 Exeter St Davids to Laira T.& R.S.M.D

Laira to Laira working as 1A75 can no longer work 1C77 / 1A94 because it won't get back to Paddington in time to get back to Plymouth.

That above workings are correct (IW3 Diagram for Sat 13/04)

How many HSTs are left with the larger buffets and kitchen? Reason I ask is that I want to do a pullman lunch on the much nicer HST first class while I still can. The 'dilema' is miss the 12.03 PAD to PNZ in favour of the 13.03 to Plymouth, which I believe will be HST until the bitter end, only for Pullman not to be offered on that service due to wrong type of train/faulty equipment, and thus miss out entirely. Although the kitchens are very good on an IET and the Pullman is much more reliable, it just doesn't have the same ambience to it, and a poor seating layout, should I decide to take someone. So I could play it safe with the 12.03, or risk it with the 13.03 but for a better experience.

Either way you might need to book a seat in the restaurant (with first class ticket).
We had lunch on the 12.03 yesterday and the restaurant was full with customers turned away.
That was an IET but I think there's extra demand for HST Pullmans now with people wanting one last meal in luxury.

If anybody has details on the shorter 2+4 HST's in service today, that would be great to know. Preferably anything passing through Temple Meads (preferably heading towards Patchway/Bristol Parkway) after 5pm or so. On Monday there were some 2+4's doing runs from Taunton to Cardiff and back that passed through between 5 and 6:30, just wondering if they're doing the same again?
