Does anybody know which 3 313s were parked at the London end of Hornsey depot this afternoon? All help would be gratefully appreciated!

Trying to clear the remains of the fleet before they go and I’m down to my last few now!

Thanks

Going to try again this Saturday. Might be my last chance!
Both ending Hornsey tonight if they stick to diagram. If I'm reading RTT correctly the 313 workings off Hornsey tomorrow are 5R00, 5K00 and 5K02. So those three diagrams are definitely worth covering.

That's great. I'll see if I can get lucky

313 on the fast ? That is rare.

But it did bring a tear to my eye.

Not sure if a 717 has been on the fast besides in testing, but the extra speed and acceleration could make it more likely the signaller would consider it during disruption.

Or ECS, in particular 5E61 and 5E65 which both get slowed down by the stoppers in front of it <(

I've had the pleasure of going on the fast quite a few times actually, most recently turned on the fast at Ally Pally then back to the slow at Potters Bar, then from WGC to Letchworth (in service to SVG), I was on the fast. It was well exciting although the unit I had struggled to get to 75mph.....go figure!

I suspect some units would struggle to get over 50 or 60 at the moment if motors are isolated.

I was told that the units are capable of 100mph and are limited by software to 85. Is that the case? (A moot point given there's presumably no plan to modify them to run at 100mph at any time in service or empty).

Sad to see them go , as I remember the 31's with the suburban stock they replaced plus ( and even worse ) the 2 car Cravens stock made into 6 car units with6 driving compartments and 3 Guards Vans the 313' really revolutionised the service,

Does anyone have any updates on the next scrap move(s)? I was at Watton-at-Stone today (not been out for a few months due to health reasons) and was surprised to see a 717 in service, and then stumbled on this thread... what do they say "all good things must come to an end!"

I've only been on the fast once on a pair of 313s from Stevenage to Alexandra Palace but that was because it was a diverted Hertford service being routed via Welwyn GC.

I think there was some incident or something on the Hertford Loop so the train in question shunted from Platform 4 to Platform 2 then off on the fast line to London, was pretty cool racing past all the stations and not stopping!

Also correct me if I'm wrong but with the Hertford's if they were delayed in London heading northwards and I mean delays of over 20 mins plus didn't they use to run them fast to Stevenage to pick up their next working south via Hertford from there?

Pretty sure First Capital Connect did it as well as GTR, not sure if it's something that still happens?

Since last night, one of the 717s (the middle one) in Ferme Park has been swapped with a pair of 313s - presumably in readiness for another trip to the scrappers? Couldn't see which ones, sadly.

I believe it's 028 & 053 stored ready for their final trip, however, no 313's will be moved to scrap this week.

Last 313 I ever drove. We don't sign them any more now so no final trip for me.

Any drivers who are Class 717 trained and who miss the Class 313s?

Yes I’m not not being sarcastic here!

I still drive both 717 and 313s

What I'll miss about 313s:
-Quick cab set up / Quick cab shutdown - on a 717 when you change ends you need to stow your chair and move a panel to allow egress through nose end door in an emergency.
-Having a droplight window I can lean and look out of whilst driving.
-Having a spacious cab environment.
-Not having vigilance device requiring me to make inputs every 30s to prevent alerts going off whilst I coast for extended periods of time.
-Not having to put a train into wash mode when going through a wash

Today I started my 313 traction training, I don’t suppose anyone has any hard copies of the traction stuff for a 313 they could email me?

I haven't got anything for Drivers I'm afraid! My only tip would be if you think it's on fire, it probably is!
