Mod Note: Please use this thread for discussion only of diagrams. Anyway wishing to discuss their opinion of the new trains should use the existing thread which can be found here.

Hello there. I thought I'd do a similar thread to the GWR IET diagrams but for the LNER Class 800 / 801 Azuma trains.

LNER have said the 15th May (around 2 months time obviously ;)) is when the first one runs from London to Leeds.

As per the initial LNER Azuma thread, the Hull Executive Diagram (3A12; 1A12; 1D11; 1A33; 1H10; 1J10; 5J10) is due to be the first to turn over to Azuma operation. @JamesGar listed that, on the 15th of May, the plan is to run only 1D11 & 1A33 with an Azuma, with the rest of the diagram turning over to full Azuma operation the next day.

Do we have any idea whether those diagrams likely to be maintained through the May timetable change? And I presume no Saturday operation yet?

LNER hoping to introduce Azuma London - York services during the summer

Still no eta north of York thanks to the powers the be not realizing the signals can't take the new trains early enough to prevent this delay

If all goes to plan (which is probably 50/50) around 65 trains will be in service by 2020

Do we know yet whether the first trains in service will be 5 or 9 carriage sets yet?

9 car sets, as that is all that has been accepted so far.

Also only the bimode sets authorised ao far, and the 5 car bimodes are still in production at Newton Aycliffe.

So are the first runs from Leeds or Hull on the 15th or both? LNER website states Leeds?

Isn’t that what post #2 above explains? That on the first day only the Leeds 1D11 and return 1A33 in the middle of the normal Hull diagram will be changed, so implying there’ll be a couple of stock swaps during the day?

I assume the 16:16 Leeds - London service on a Sunday will be going across to Azuma operated from May, as I've just booked a ticket for the 26th May and it put me into coach G with the seating plan showing as a 9-coach set.

Is it just the one diagram going over from the 15th or are we expecting LNER to launch 2 or 3 diagrams on the Kings Cross-Leeds axis?

Only 1D11/1A33 on 15th.
Full NL65 diagram 1A12/1D11/1A33/1H10/1J10 on 16th.

1 set, both days.

And will it remain an Azuma after that providing there's no major issues? Will book one service on its diagram when I travel after May if that's the case.
Also, what diagrams will these work at weekends?

Planning to just do KGX-PBO (1D11) on 15th as unfortunately have to be somewhere in the afternoon.

On 17th with full NL65 diagram I'll probably do a DON-KGX on 1A12 in the morning and then KGX-HUL-DON on 1H10 & 1J10 in the evening. I expect that final leg will be quite quiet!

You wòuld have thought the first service of a bi-modal traìn would have been on a bi-modal route.

I’m traveling from Newark North Gate to King’s Cross on the 20th of May, what’s the best way to get on one of the new trains, I know about looking at the seat diagram for each service, is there a quicker way?

The 0700 from Hull will be a azuma which gets to Newark at 0822. The first diagram to switch over. Definitely.

Steady on. LNER have confirmed (and it has been said here numerous times) that certainly on the first day of Azuma operation, it will be the NL65 diagram that is covers, but only the London to Leeds part initially. NL65 is set to work the Hull part of the journey initially unless I’m very, very much mistaken (and LNER too)

It's been confirmed that that applies to day one only. After that the Hull diagram should be an IET throughout the day.

According to booking system on the LNER website the seating layout is an azuma on Hull to KX.
