I'm looking at getting the 1C74 0903 Paddington-Plymouth on the 22/4/19 from Exeter but I'm not sure if it's a HST or IET. Can anyone help. I have looked at RTT and it doesn't come from Laira as I can see.

Thanks,
Nat

This maybe a stupid question.
I'm looking at the last departures from Paddington for the HST's but I don't want to stay out over night.

Are these HST's coming from anywhere, so I can ride one of the last ones into Paddington?

It's on a Laira to Penzance TMD diagram, and is a HST until the end (weekdays that is)

Thank you Class 172. I should've read all the posts.

I've now booked myself on the 13.00 to Bristol and returning at 16.00 on the 18th May. Some good advance fares, with my senior card and with postage of £1 from Hemel Hempstead = £26.70.

Yes, being on a final run INTO Paddington is a good idea, using these diagrams.

Trying to get reservations on the 1830 on 18/05 but no journey planner will give it as an itinerary from Paddington to Westbury. And the lady at the ticket office at Warminster said she can't find it either, any ideas on how to get a reservation on it?

I doubt there are any available now due to the demand

Have you specified via Bath?

There are, I've checked by just searching PAD-BTH
East Mids Trains booking engine took me at least part way thru booking process on the 18.30 on 18 may with a dummy Paddington to Taunton booking (you get the choice of the 18.30 and the 18.32 later not being the HST). I did not complete process, but maybe give it a try via EMT.

Sorry - just spotted that you said to Westbury but not sure it stops at Westbury does it? maybe you need to book to another stop en route?

That cos it goes to Bath - but not Westbury. Which is why you can get a reservation to bath but not Westbury surely.

You should be able to get a reservation to Westbury via Bath, but I suspect there isn't a valid connection off the 1830 to Westbury, as it's overtaken by the 1832 at Reading

There's a valid connection eventually, it's just frustrating I can't find a booking engine that will let me force it to give me a journey to Westbury on it. And moreso that someone at a GWR ticket office can't either. Obviously I was looking for a reservation to bath, not Westbury!

I've just tried the LNER website and it let me book a seat on the 1830 from PAD to BTH, as it shows overtaken trains.

Hi all, newbie here just signed up. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if the 10.01 Plymouth to Paddington on 27th April will be an HST or IET, thanks in advance.
