Sorry, Day job is emissions of slightly smaller things...

DPF you was right, SCR is Selective Catalytic Reduction. The Nox is held onto by the surface of the brick in the cat, when it’s full urea (adblue( is added to the exhaust gasses up stream of the cat, it reacts with the nox via the coatings on the cat and turns it into less harmful compounds.
Thanks. I know exactly what you're describing, but didn't know it by name.

It sort of surprises me the cab doors are a little more old fashioned, rather than the Bombardier approach of swinging out.
Maybe that's just it... all the recent units have had that sort of door so anything that opens inwards is a little strange.

Probably depends on whether the unit has a Gangway or not. Not much space for an Swing Door, that opens into the cab on modern gangway'd units.

Amazed to see so many of the new northern units at Wavertree and Allerton, but still not managed to get one in service. Whats the hold up and when can we expect to see passengers on any of the new sets

I take it you’ve not seen the countless thread posts mentioning the problems with the bar couplers? That’s why there’s loads of them sat around.

Could this more contoured seat cushion be retrofitted to a 700 or are the backs themselves different

Saw a driving vehicle on a lorry heading north up the M5 near Junction 14 around 10.30 yesterday. Didn't see number so could've been a 195 or 331 vehicle.

170s don't have gangways :p
Neither do the Networker family!
185s, 360s...

I guess it's just manufacturer preference as well as gangway.

112 & 113 were out on the tests today
195112 operating 5Z29 1457 Springs Branch Jn to Blackpool North through Wigan North Western
That looks like qute a large step up on to the train there!
I guess nobody knows how "tall" it is?

Can I also add
321s
322s
323s
332s
& 333s to that list. They don't have end gangways but still have sliding cab doors. (The latter two also made by CAF who are also building these units)
