Cheers all for clearing that up. I just assumed they contacted you to confirm all was good.

Just spoke to HR, all is good just got to wait for the formal offer.

@tiptoptaff thank you for information. Also ‘willy waving’ got me laughing :D.

Well, just received my offer letter via email. I assume a human pushed a button yesterday as I wasn't expecting anything over the weekend? It's becoming more real now!

Congratulations buddy. Every step closer makes it feel more real, was the contract attached for you to read and sign?

Cheers mate, and agreed....I still couldn’t quite believe it’s happened so fast. Less than a year ago I’d only just applied for the process with Freightliner and in that time I’ve done the assessments and had three DMIs :)

I had to accept and sign the offer electronically and they said I’ll receive the contract through the post to sign and return a copy of. The letter strangely still outlines the offer is subject to the receiving satisfactory medical results and DBS etc, which I assume they already have otherwise they’d not send the offer? (The DBS came back as I requested a certificate too). Probably just to cover themselves.

They also mentioned filling out a uniform request? I get the impression it’s just an old letter template and their processes have changed (hence the uniform thing)....it also refers to them as ‘FGW’ in one place too.

Yeah that must be an old template they haven’t updated yet. Maybe the process was different before this recruitment phrase? ‍♂️

I will let you know when I get my email and see if it’s the same.

Haha :)

Good news! Are you external? We were trying to work out their method in sending the letters or if it’s just random.
Im First Group internal but not GWR internal. I dont think it matters when it comes to sending out the offers of employment really. Its all good :D

Congratulations to you all. If you don’t mind me asking does the offer confirm the starting salary? Just trying to sort out my own financial plans.

There is a lot of willy waving going on here hahaha!

I’m external to the First Group so maybe that’s why I’m not so lucky today.

Internal (GWR) staff haven't had anything either. Doesn't seem to be a pattern
