Hopefully if we can at least get everyone on this forum who is waiting on this thread we have an idea of how many for each depot.

I'm in the pool for 18/19 so does that count? Lol. Still waiting unfortunately, been in contact with HR and told to sit tight. My DMI was may 22 2018 so almost been in the pool a year now. I MUST be close to the top now.. RIGHT?!

As has been said really. The start date they give you will be verbal (mine was anyway) and they then send a conditional offer (basically a job offer as long as you pass all their set conditions including medical and DBS). They will then confirm the start date when they send you your formal offer once you’ve met their conditions.

The updates on the rest of the process is by email. Is it a phone call when you are lucky enough to be contacted about a conditional start date?

I’m not sure, I did have a look around the forum as well but it’s really unclear how many people were in the pool.

So I just received a call offering me a course at the end of August. Slight problem in that I have a holiday booked in September and you can’t take any leave in the first 19 weeks!

Well not sure mate cos we’ve paid a lot of money for the holiday. I am going to see if they would let me move the holiday until early next year.
If that doesn’t work then I’ll have to stay in the talent pool and wait for the next opportunity.

Haha, I’m not usually that lucky, but this is good news, congrats! Was the call from a mobile number (mine was)? I can only imagine they take their work home with them sometimes, as I can’t see recruitment being anything other than a standard 9-5 Monday/Friday type job ordinarily?

It’s a shame about the holiday, when did you book it? It’s tricky because 19-weeks is a long time, especially through the summer when a lot of people book holidays. I didn’t book a holiday this year....no particular reason, but it worked out well. I’ll still be away through the whole of the summer holidays and will miss my eldest’s birthday. It’s one of those things that you have to weigh up unfortunately.

Best of luck though, hope you can sort something out!

Yeah it was a mobile number, and I thought the same they must work from home on a flexible pattern.

Nice surprise but it has caused me a headache. We have placed a large deposit on a luxury house in Cornwall for a couple of weeks. Losing the deposit and the holiday is not an option. This leaves me pleading with the booking agent about moving the slot until next year.

It’s Sod’s law because if it had been a Month later the holiday would have been and gone.

No just said that I would be placed back in the talent pool. It would be a shame as this course is in Newton Abbot which is the closest training centre for me. Any other offers could be at other training centres.

I’m sure it will work out one way or another!
