TP09 has now been accepted by TPE and the diagrams are the start of driver assessor training. The CAF Bletchley runs should start again Wednesday with TP04.

I have been told by well placed sources that set 09 was accepted to enable staff training to commence, but that it will not enter passenger service in its current condition as there are still some issues to address with the set. Hopefully other sets accepted are fully ready for passenger service.

Can the public help to choose the name?

Let’s hope not, ‘Catty McCatface’ would be terrible;)

Original planned names/actual names below:

68026 Nautilus/Enterprise
68027 Endeavour/Splendid
68028 Splendid/Lord President
68029 Destroyer/
68030 Enterprise/Black Douglas
68031 Excelsior/Felix
68032 Patriot/Destroyer

TPE ‘reserve’ locos
68033 Courageous/
68034 Victorious/

So, from the original list for the unnamed locomotives in the TPE ‘main’ fleet the following names are left: Nautilus, Endeavour, Excelsior, and Patriot.

Given that 68028/30 have the same names as 87028/30, 68029 might even be ‘Earl Marischal’, or how about ‘Renown’?

As always, happy to be corrected and would be delighted to know the actual name.

Wow, that's some list of names. Sounds like they should add things like 'annihilator' and 'exterminator' :E

Don't forget that 'Patriot' also appeared on 87003.

Are they not missing a trick not naming them after iconic Pennine region legends or places?
Well they've got FELIX the cat at least

68019 ‘Brutus’ leaving York on 0B66 14:00 York to Scarborough.

0B60/0B61/0B62/0B63 were caped due to problems with splitting 68019 and 68027 in York Parcel Siding.

68019 then worked:
0B64 12:00 York to Scarborough
0B65 13:00 Scarborough to York
0B66 14:00 York to Scarborough

So, 68019 is now at Scarborough and 68027 is at York.

Maybe name one ‘Bolt’ to go with it;)

I actually like the names so far, I’ll admit to learning a thing or two about history as a result:)

Very nice shot. Thanks for the update too, appreciated.

Wolf of Badenoch or Hal O' The Wind would be good.
Wolf of Badenoch made rather a mess of a pacer between Weaver Junction & Crewe some years ago, if I remember correctly.

Many thanks, I’m really pleased that you like the picture.

‘DRS Fleet Services’ were in attendance at the Parcel Siding, it was a right job to split the locos!

If 68029 comes out with 'Wolf of Badenoch' plates, it will be an instant favourite. Coolest name ever to adorn a loco!

Would've been better suited to 027 mind

Maybe it could be named 'Endeavour,' but only if they are still to work to Middlesbrough (are they?).

Otherwise, I am personally inclined to favour cat themed names. Mind you, I'm still undecided on the new names for two actual rescue cats me and my family will be picking up tomorrow.

Funnily enough, a member of staff made that exact suggestion two years ago in an internal competition. Suffice to say their well researched submission was declined and we ended up with Nova 1/2/3 instead!

I certainly won't complain if 68029 gets renown plates, seeing as tho I own a (albeit very small) part of 50029! XD

Nova (well okay, "no va") being Spanish for "not going" or "doesn't go" it does seem kind of appropriate.

It's a Scottish name though, chosen at the time of the "Electric Scots".
The TPE Nova 3 project doesn't have any connection with Scotland.

I think the same applies to 68028 ‘Lord President’ and 68030 ‘Black Douglas’...

Surely Endeavour would be more appropriate for a 68 serving Oxford?
