There's no date for that, there a no new (solely) petrol/diesel powered cars date.
The current plan is to ban their sale by 2032 despite not really knowing how they will be replaced or how the charging infrastructure and grid can cope with millions of EVs.

However the ban doesn't rule out the use of hybrid cars (Toyota Prius), so doesn't mean that all cars will be EV by a long way.

XC04 is en route to Laira but wont be out until next week in service. XC01 has gone on to Doncaster.
XC02 has gone into works, actually. XC01 was the second set to be power door fitted.

Probably worthy of note that XC05 is now the only slam door HST set in passenger service with Crosscountry.

That's what I meant, had XC01 on the mind for some reason

Does anyone know if the last slam door set XC05 is still in passenger service? If so, can anyone tell me what diagrams it should be on in the next week or so? Recently the only XC HSTs I have seen have all been sliding door equipped.

It was in service on Wednesday but not sure if that’s still the case.

Yes it's still in traffic and will be until XC02 comes out of Doncaster

If that's true then what's the bet it will form the 1E73 1625 Plymouth to Doncaster today? Says it's pathed as a HST on RTT. Slam door HST in bath would be nice.

Off topic, but speaking to National Grid (and I am in the energy infrastructure industry so speak with them on a regular basis) they are confident in the grid's capability to cope. Charging infrastructure is improving daily. Also I suspect we may move from a vehicle that sits idle most of the day to an autonomous pod type vehicle based system that you won't own but pay per mile. 12 and a bit years is a long time to get things sorted.

The grid isn't the problem - the lower voltage bit of the DNOs is... especially in some urban areas

Grid stuff is easily upgradable by 2032 in any case

Agreed. I was responding to a specific comment that mentioned the grid. Anyway, we should let the thread go back to XC HSTs.
