I would have thought 802202 which is the unit in plain white would have received TPE vinyls at Eastleigh, unless the two of them went down there for interior fitting?Just passed West Drayton on the Up Relief. Leading unit in TPE livery, trailing unit plain white.
I suspect the works would have been more mechanical & electrical; LNER's Azumas have been there a lot lately for commissioning and mods, as were some of the later GWR 800s.I would have thought 802202 which is the unit in plain white would have received TPE vinyls at Eastleigh, unless the two of them went down there for interior fitting?
Been cancelled anyway
Bizarre to see that top service stopping at small stations like Mossley and Greenfield which it will never serve
I see 0754 service out at Durham right nowSeems to be tests all week with booked stops at intermediate stations, possibly for platform/train interface or ASDO.

Looks like it might have done Durham then back to Heaton as the times on RTT are going in the wrong direction.I see 0754 service out at Durham right now
A quick question on these: will they lead to improved journey times on their intended routes?
I suspect the answer is yes, but that'll be offset by the various bottlenecks they'll have to crawl through...
They'll be able to operate at 125mph (as opposed to 100mph) if they're routed on the ECML fast lines. They'll be faster from Newcastle to York
Manchester -> Liverpool/Airport should be enhanced too with electric acceleration; especially prevalent due to the speed restriction over a level crossing on Chat Moss.but doubt it on much of the rest of the route.

The timetable and routings will need some re-jigging for the journey times to be improved though. Southbound between Newcastle and York, the Liverpool-bound TPE is routed on the ECML slows and overtaken by an LNER KGX train after Darlington. Don't think the same is true Northbound because there's only 2 tracks after Northallerton, apart from through Durham.
It's not yet known if departing York southbound will be on diesel or electric (6 miles up until Colton Jn) - but electric would again offer journey time improvements.
Will they use electric around Leeds? Probably help reduce pollution in the city center and reduce noise/particulates in the undercover station.

I've noted this on my way home, what's the exact issue with the crossing? Is it one that is due to be rectified? They'll be able to operate at 125mph (as opposed to 100mph) if they're routed on the ECML fast lines.
