First really should get in for the last week of june.
Who said 2 ? It is more than that is all I will say at presentI thought it was always expected to be 2 buses ex-City Sightseeing. Presumably, with so little resources, it will just be a straight out and back trip (not a full Hop On Hop Off).
I guess your correct but it's got to start somewhere and I guess if last week of June was date some would say get in for early June!!First really should get in for the last week of june.

It will be a Hop on - Hop off type ticket.

Were they fit to move? LolI think the two open topper have been moved east. Can anyone comfirm?
Seen one heading into Larbert depot . V528ESC I think it was ,all over red .
If that's its plate then its an ex Lothian open top whichI think was with Craigs of Cambeltown and registered WCM 200.Seen one heading into Larbert depot . V528ESC I think it was ,all over red .
Any visitor too the city I hope are wise enough not to use these old polluting buses, a total kick in the teeth given the whole country is trying to improve there emission levels, if lothian sees this out until we see an LEZ in edinburgh it will put First under even more pressure as lothian are already compliant with its tour buses.
Lothians tour buses are all euro 6 therefore are compliant with current standards.
250 was running in Glasgow recently and is therefore LEZ compliant
All the indications and speculation suggest that firsts open toppers come from a time when Euro 3 was the standard
Just because it was running in Glasgow doesn’t make it LEZ compliant as Glasgow’s LEZ has not fully kicked in yet.Lothians tour buses are all euro 6 therefore are compliant with current standards.

I am regarding the vehicles that First are rumoured to be using on this proposed tour bus.Gingerbus1991 isn anti First. ALL of First buses going into Edinburgh are Euro 6. Lothian can't say.....
The 2 tour buses went down the M8 and M80 today. Its strange there there went to Labart and not West Lothian. Does anyone else know what other stock is being used for this?
Point taken, the LEZ will effect motorists most of all but considering Edinburgh city councils previous weak stance on introducing congestion charging as well, we’ll have to wait to be see as with all the rumours, of course it will effect bus companies anyways if they aren't compliant.FIrst never used old buses back in the bus war of 2000-02, it was brand new darts? First isn't digging a hole it's the most cunning plan its ever had, its impossible for this attack not to cover its cost. Lothian will have a tone of losses aswell
No one cares if Edinburgh get a LEZ in 2024 it very likley this idea will be gone ( that is the case what is your point? ) or First will go out shopping and convert some 2016 stuff.
Lol I’ll believe that when I really see it!First are working smarter not harder

So the proposed tours by First will make up for the losses already likely felt by First in WL?In all fairness within Edinburgh First probably have a better chance making something out of the tour services rather than city services. So i'd say this is a wise move.
As has been noted before First (or any operator for that matter) can probably get more out of tour services in Edinburgh than Lothian can in West Lothian. Unlike general passengers tourists probably won't care about the age of the vehicles, it mainly comes down to route and cost.
Some of the Streetlites are Euro 5.
The cummins engined ones are E5 compliant.I'm surprised some of the Streetlites are Euro5!

Tour operations are circumstantial from the time of year where as LC services will pick up all year round in WL, it is difficult to move into a market which you have no original foothold as lothian likely understand even before it launched any competing services in WL, however it is still early days, some are optimistic, I’ll call myself realistic!
Rather like saying why should the people in West Lothian be polluted with these 04 plate vehicles when First were using 14 and 66 plate low emission ones !!Any visitor too the city I hope are wise enough not to use these old polluting buses, a total kick in the teeth given the whole country is trying to improve there emission levels, if lothian sees this out until we see an LEZ in edinburgh it will put First under even more pressure as lothian are already compliant with its tour buses.

I hope the people of West Lothian see through the "keep Edinburgh moving" brigade and wise enough not to use them!
#just to keep the balance
was meant as a wind up ...The 04 plates have exhaust modifications so they match the same emissions standards as those 14 plate Streetlites you mention... (Euro5)
