The 150 was rostered on Fridays, but would very often be substituted by a 170 purely due to non availability. The only difference with a Friday, was instead of staying overnight at Worcester, the 150 was booked onto the rake forming 5M54 tbe 21.17 Worcester LMD to Tyseley.

Monday was the only day it the 150 diagram was booked to be worked by a 170. Ironically, the 150 was known to substitute for a 170 sometimes on that day.

If you use nonsense CRS codes, which there was no indication of. BNS has been shorthand for New St a lot longer than they’ve existed.
So instead use a made up code that looks like a CRS code?

So we still don't know how many of these things will be in traffic next Monday for the timetable change.

No, if they hadn't completely rewrote the diagrams they could have used the dogboxes for the Nuneaton to Leamington service for the first few weeks as a back up.

As far as I see it only three units are operating on their own: the one on the Birmingham Hereford which is already running and two on the Leamington Coventry Nuneaton service. All the other units will run coupled to 172/2 or /3 on the Snow Hill lines but even if some trains are short formed the timetable will operate.

1 on Hfd’s 2 on Leam-Nuneaton & 4 running as 2 pairs on snow hill services with 1 spare according to unit diagrams. Obviously subject to the usual alterations due to availability or lack of!

Where have the 170's released from the chase line services ended up?

Some will be absorbed by increased frequency of Shrewsbury services.
All going on the Shrewsbury-New St services. Actually running with reduced capacity on the Hereford-New St’s. Not going to go down well with the punters or train crew.

Would it not be better to put the extra 170's on strengthening some of the most busy Hereford and Shrewsbury services rather than increasing the frequency in one route which already has 2tph to Birmingham (I know one does not call at the local stations).

6 153’s diagrammed off Worcester depot as 3 pairs. 2 pairs attached to a 170/5 all day, 1 on snow hills & 1 on Hfds. The final pair start off coupled to a 170 & then work on there own on Hfds. The other 2 spare.

Worcester will be the only depot with booked work from the new timetable as far as I’m aware.

In service on the Nuneaton & Leamington route from tomorrow.
Probably/possibly the /2 or /3 though. That's the plan for weekends.

3!?! Wow the people of Coventry and Nuneaton were mesmerised by a double dog box.

Still get the regulars moaning that there is more capacity at the weekend. If I had a pound every time someone asked me why they couldn't make it 2 carriages in the week I'd have retired by now.

Triple dogbox last year when Godiva festival was on. Even the train crew were in shock.

I suspect most will not be ready for Monday. Short forms on Snow Hill jobs me thinks.
Does the new timetable take into account the 153s? Is it possible that the 153s continue working until the 172/0s are all in service?
