Well it’s been ongoing since January. That’s quite some time.

Well they either do it at weekends where possible or they shut it down for a long period and get it done in one hit - which would be preferable to you?

Does GA do engineering work on the GMEL every single weekend? Seems like it.

Needs to stop!

Quite agree ! we can cancel all that silly Crossrail work, and not bother with renewing the overheads, and whilst we are at it, scrap the HOBC and the work it does, will just leave the track as it is :) Oh and of course you would never have had the Felixstowe Capacity Project either

Having said that I think there have been trains to London over the 3, 4 or 5 weekends ? although HOBC / Pointwork etc at the Country end at weekends (inc this weekend)

Nah, what we need to do is scrap all these new trains and bring steam out of retirement full time. Steam was never late in my day

Ummm, in my day I grew-up about 100 yards from Wood Street, Walthamstow loco-shed & although the Jazz was still a goodpeak-hour operation it wasn't perfect.
As for the other railway through the town (The Goblin) the steam (& replacement diesels) weren't a patch on the GE lines.

Am I wrong, or is there really a 11.00, 11:02, and a 11:04 from LST to Ipswich now?

It seems to be

11:00 - Calling at Ipswich and Norwich only.
11:02 - Calling at Colchester, Manningtree, Ipswich, Diss, Norwich
11:04 - Calling at Stratford, Shenfield, Chelmsford, Hatfield, Witham, Kelvedon, Marks Tey, Colchester, Manningtree, Ipswich.

I understand the idea for the Ipswich to 60 and Norwich in 90, but monitoring the passenger numbers on some of these trains later in their journey, will be interesting.

Are the Class 90s going to be working all these journeys until the new stock is ready? The timetable suggests that it could be units judging by the icons.

What stock ran the 11:02, and any other displaced diagrams that the Nin90 set ran?

So 321's ? Sucks to be a passenger who regularly uses one of those diagrams.
GA are clearly between a rock and a hard place. It was important to them to get the Ni90 inaugurated on schedule.
But they don't actually need any further incentives to get the new stock commissioned do they?

Whilst this am the Ni90's seem to have run to time, the pm runs have both had issues with late running trains ahead. Nothing to do with the stock of course.

Yes 18.48 ex lst to Harwich was 2 late at Witham, causing 1900 to lose 2 minutes there and the 18.35 ex lst to Clacton left 5 late and was still 2 late at Colchester, meaning the Norwich lost another 2 there, so was 4 late at Ipswich and now 6 late through Diss.

Shows how tight the evening peak working timetable is, to squeeze a non stop path to Ipswich. Will be interesting to see how the 1900 does the rest of the week.

To get back on topic, the superior (and presumably similar) acceleration of the flirts and the adventra's will help in recovery in the future.

18:32 left 10 late due to someone being stuck in the toilet at LST. That messed up most of the trains before the 19:00
