Shortest international appearances

You've got it - well done!

Alexandre Albouy is reckoned to have the shortest career at about 90 seconds, and all the others were only on the pitch for 5 minutes or less during their only appearance.

It's your here today and gone tomorrow stage!

Thank you.

What piece of English cricketing history did Bruce French, Bill Athey, Bob Taylor and Bobby Parks contribute to in July 1986?

I'll give you the answer to this, because I'm not going to be around much for the next week or so.

It's the only time that four people have kept wicket for the same team in a single Test Match. Bruce French started the match, but was injured. Bill Athey replaced him for a couple of overs, and was then in turn replaced by Bob Taylor, who had actually retired the previous year and was a guest of (I think) Ladbrookes at that match. Finally, he was in turn replaced by Bobby Parks for the rest of the match.

As an aside, Bobby Parks became the third member of his family (after his father, Jim Parks Junior, and his Grandfather, Jim Parks Senior) to keep wicket for England, but as a substitute, he never got a cap as it wasn't allowed in those days.

I think that means it's an open floor so I'll have a go.

What did Admiral Lord Nelson and the member of the family Mustelidae have to do with each other?

Was his clothing made from the skin of one of the members of the family.

I will give you a bonus point because ermine (the fur that members of the House of Lords wear) is the winter coat of the stoat, I believe - and the stoat is a mustelid. But what I had in mind was something more specific to Nelson than that. The animal in question was a lot bigger than a stoat - and quite a nice family of beers is named after it.

This won't last long but which major US city is named after a British PM? I heard it today and it entertained me.

Ha ha ha. So sorry mate. Have been working long shifts all weekend. I am an absolute clown .

I wouldn't worry; I think we all needed the entertainment after a long weekend!

I'm sure everyone would be happy for you to try again with a fresh question, in the circumstances.
