sadly didn't pass my DMI.
Gutted. Will have to re-apply in 6 months.

Did anyone on here get through ? I believe the start date of training was meant to be this week.

Hi guys long time lurker but just joined up. I have my assesment day on the 4th June for this role. First application that has made it through the sift this year. Was getting very discouraged.

For some of you guys that have done your assessments I would massively appreciate it if you could give me a structure to the day? What tests you did etc

And also if you pass the assesments is the dmi/mmi on a separate date?

Final question if I fail these assesments, does that count as one of my two lives? Or is that only related to dmi/mmi

I have 2 weeks to revise as much as possible whilst helping look after our new baby!

Appreciate any responses. Cheers!

Dot test
TRP 1&2

Break

DFFT
TEA-occ

Lunch

Answer 6 questions for the MMI (Brief answers)
Computer tests

DMI and MMI are on separate days after the assessment.

DMI first then MMI.

If you fail any part if this assessment then it costs you 1 of your 2 lives sadly.

DMI does not cost you a life.

MMI does.

Hope this helps :)

Failed my group bourdon here today. Facepalm stuff, it's gonna be a long six months

Oh no. I posted some practice papers you can print out on the bourdon sticky thread. It even has the answers and it honestly helped me a lot. I think the key is to recognise what a cluster of 4 dots look like so you got ‘y’ and ‘L’ for example.

I shall be making great use of these should I find a driving / guard job to apply for in six + months, thanks for the heads up :)

Hi, I've passed my assessment today for this role and I'll be doing DMI next. Could you give me any advise, what sort of questions do they ask?
Thanks

Hello mate, it wasn't too hard for me. My advise is make sure you understand the instruction of each test. Some of the candidates failed because they were confused. Do not panic, stay calm and try to do your best.

Congratulations on passing the assessment day. I'vd mine coming up in July. I've heard something about a GLOP test. Does this feature?

Hi, yes. They gave us some information to study for 5 mins. Then we needed to answer some questions related to this information. It is part of the trainability test.

The assesments aren't too bad tbh. I've done and passed them all. I'd just advise you to stay calm and you'll hopefully smash It. For me the key to passing was keeping calm.

Well done Chris. Any hints/tips would be useful mate. Have mine next month. How was the philadelphia lift tones counting and the 2 handed co ordination test? Also the traffic scenes one I'm intrigued as the how quickly the image popped up before disappearing

well done Chris, delighted for you. did you pass the 1st day off assessments (dot test, tea occ test etc) or have you passed the next stage. obviously different TOC will probably have different assessment layouts, but I've passed (dot test, tea occ, DFFT and SJE few weeks back, just have AART, WAFV, TRP AND MMI next week. any info would be much appreciated mate

I’ll be totally honest without sounding big headed, I found the tests relatively easy compare to what I was expecting.

Dot test - dots are nicely spaced apart, just practice those mock tests in the sticky and train your mind to recognise the patterns of 4 dots. Stay calm and move quickly but accurately and you’ll be fine.

GLOP TEST- memorise the page of info, listen to the tape and then read through the passage of info and use your 5 mins wisely.
Pick out key info, numbers, colours, ignore the fluff info and the multiple choice QS are very obvious.

Dials: again very straight forward. Prioritise the colour segments first, only if two dials are
In the same colour segment even bother to look at the number data

Break

Lift counting tones. Very simple, 3 example exercises before hand will make sure you know exactly what to do. Probably the easiest test.

Phone book search: IGNORE ALL WRITING, your only task is to circle the symbols at the end of each column whenever there are two matching symbols.

Search + tones: focus on tones and you have a quick break between the next set of tones so use this time again to circle the symbols again IGNORE all writing, the plumber thing means nothing it’s irrelevant, every one in the book is a plumber. Symbols only!

DFFT: use the practise material they send you, he gave us very detailed 3 example questions before the test, as long as you understand and can do the 3rd example then the actual test won’t be any harder. FYI I managed 11Questions (I believe we’re all correct)

Lunch

Computer tests:
Blinking grey square: can’t really practise but my advice is the square blinks, but it won’t be grey and then blink and suddenly be black, it will always be grey as it appears and then will transform into black so this change is quite simple to pick up. Another helpful tip, the normal square is dull, as it turns into a shiny laminate tv surround black colour hit that green button!

Traffic scenes: they flash up for roughly one second, I found this the hardest as I was unsure if I’d picked everything, Cars, bikes, people, are very obvious it’s the road signs and traffic lights to watch out for.

2 hand test: if you play computer games this should be a breeze, the sticks are super sensitive but you get a practise in your own time to complete so don’t just use it to go round the track on the screen, move that red dot all over the place until you feel like you can control it easily. I sped through the track on the straights and only really came off on the bendy bit but just get straight back on and you’ll be fine.

FYI only two of us made it through to afternoon and we both passed the computer tests.

Hey mate, I did all the tests on the same day. See my above post for the computer tests.

Can’t help you on mmi, as I need advice for my dmi and mmi! I think they are where
Most fall short. I’m more nervous for those as I know they want very detailed answers
