Because it'll more thank likely be vinyled over at Northampton. All the LM green & black vinyls were removed at Long Marston; the only paint change was that the vestibule doors were removed and re-sprayed into dark green.
Oh i meant the gangway, why that wasnt green like the rest of the cab but i know now

So are the 350/1 Desiros be keeping the yellow on the driving cabs during the refurbishment or remove the yellow colours on the cabs?

I’ll try again ..... if the current standard Desiro headlights are retained, the minimum area of yellow required by the appropriate regulations will be needed. If the headlights are upgraded to the latest standards, the yellow end is optional (for example, GWR IETs have a yellow end, the sister TPE units do not).

IIRC I think that TPE were going to upgrade the headlights on the 185s so they could get rid of the yellow ends to give a more homogeneous brand with the new Nova fleets. Not sure if this is still going to happen.

Ok. Thanks for reminding and quoting me

All 350s should look like 106 in the picture. A grey base with a yellow front. To demonstrate it better, I'll call this the leasing/rosco "base" livery. Kinda like the base livery appearing on the pendolinos.

The train company then apply stickers / vinyls over that base, hence the appearance of the 350/3s in the LNR final scheme, with a green vinyl stickered front, with a little extra bit of yellow paint up applied by the train company up the front fly door.

During the refurbishment, will all of the Class 350/1s keep the yellow driving cabs for now, because the 350/3s have no yellow driving cabs but only on the gangway doors and the black panels are gone completely.

There is yellow underneath on the cabs of the 350/3s though afaik. It's vinyls applied on top to cover the yellow. It may be that the yellow cab end is the train leasing company's neutral base livery and the the TOC are free to vinyl on top as they wish.

That makes sense, so will the 350/1s are getting vinyled into LNWR livery soon as well?

Sounds the same with all similar desiros

Maybe the 185 thing is happening. I’ve seen quite a few go past and absolutely blind me with two very bright headlights. No change though with any 350s as yet but their lights are still overly bright, even if it is only one.

Cant imagine the 350/4 will have any big changes between now and being brought down to LNR.

Do they even have the new TPE interior?

Yes, there are definitely some 185s which appear to have been modified and now have 3 bright headlights (top and two lower) and don't show markers at all.

Seen 123 earlier sat in Crewe in a white paint scheme. No labels or anything and full yellow front. I take it this has been refurbed internally?

I wonder why they are getting painted into angel grey as they aren't going off lease? Maybe they are just going to be vinyled into lnwr.

I've been told it has not. They are supposedly very short on units at the moment with the May timetable change and not receiving the 350/4 units from TPE. I suspect they are running whatever they can at present.

Yes, the LNR livery is all-over vinyl. Probably too complex for paint.
Is it the same livery as on some non refurbished trains or is it a more complex version, as the current one looks like it could be done with paint it just would take some time as it has a couple different shades of green.

As far as I know the same one. It might be doable with paint but if vinyl is cheaper...
