The 153s that came up from the west seem to be on the City Line at the moment

There is only one 153 on the City Line and although the ex GWR ones cannot go far from home until some mods have been completed, they are restricted to going to Swansea, Maesteg, Ebbw Vale and Cardiff Bay. One a day does seem to stray as far as Cheltenham. There is discussion about this up thread here:-

This is the Class 37 thread

329, 361 and 369 have been seen in service in and around Cardiff in the last week in "Transport for First Wales Great Western" livery, and now 333 is apparently going around in full branded Transport for Wales | Wales and Borders livery, which I hope to see when I'm back in Cardiff. 325 isn't yet in service to my knowledge.

I may be wrong but at the back of mind I think I saw something somewhere about 325 going to Long Marston for some sort of work

thanks for the info!

I’ve been seeing these training setups running. They have setup as push-pull.
I was looking forward to the additional coaching stock. Now really looking forward to it.
I used to bash 37s many years in Yorkshire.
I catch the train every day Bargoed to Cardiff and return. So should be a treat when running the 37s

They are only top and tailed on the training runs for convenience but will be operating separately when both rakes of stock come into operation

My understanding was that for the first one / two weeks they will top and tail on one service, and then after that period they will revert to 2 services each way per day.

Thank you both. Really looking forward to catching a 37 to and from work

Local Facebook reports are that 37516 has failed at Llanbradach with loss of coolant. Fire Brigade in attendance.

That's unfortunate to hear. Aren't the 37s on hire to TfW locos 418 and 421...?

37418 37421 and 37516 are the locos for the rhymney. There has been talk of tfw hiring in a 3rd take with a generator van to use with 37516.
