There's quite a few in Derbyshire.

There's a bus shelter near Blue John Cavern which has a small A4 sized poster inside the case stating no buses and that the nearest bus stop is Castleton Bus Station, said poster dated back to 2011.

There was a pole and case bus stop on the A57 where the Pennine Way crosses it. No idea if its still there but the poster in there stated the nearest stops were either Glossop or Fairholmes and it dated to October 2011, where the 373 and 473 that ran that way was withdrawn.

I'm sure there'll be one or two in West Yorkshire which will have been served by no service for years, yet the stop remains. West Sussex is sure to have loads especially where withdrawn routes still have their route numbers on the stop flags.

@TheGrandWazoo That bus stop wouldn't happen to be On Braybrooke Road, In Market Harborough By anychance?
Used to go by that stop when working locally in that area (If it is that one) and think Stagecoach should of changed that by now!!!

I couldn’t say and, if you know where to look, one of the villages near Lutterworth also possesses one. That said, the Stagecoach ones in the area are the early 90s ones with the stylised SH.

Think there is also a former United Counties (NBC era) near Naseby.

I spotted this one in Central Bristol for the 8/9 service to Temple Meads. The branding was dropped from the buses when the City Line livery started to disappear in the early 00’s.

There were at least two Crosville (blue) Limited Stop signs in S Cheshire up to the last 3 or 4 years - one of them at a location which was never on a Limited Stop route. (One has gone - now in the possession of a friend.)

I've not been down that way for 15 years or more, but I always remember old blue Crosville stop signs somewhere out past Nantwich on what I assume would've been the old L2 route long after Crosville had gone.

Nowhere near as old, but I know around Crewe there are still some old Cheshire Bus flag poles knocking about.

Here's one I spotted after getting off the X70 in Water Orton the other day, near to the foot crossing across the tracks there. There's also an old WMPTE era sign somewhere near Dudley St Guns Village tram stop on the West Midlands Metro if my memory is correct.

Heart of England in its various guises (MWM was the last, if I remember correctly) finally gave up the ghost around 1984, so that's a pretty good survivor!

I can offer this one from Lincoln last month...

Thanks for the HoE/MWM info.

I'm guessing that the RoadCar branding is late 80s/early 90s, whilst the Lincoln CT must be pre-dereg?

I once came across a bus stop in Hacton Lane, Hornchurch, that was used solely by Dr Heffernan's (in)famous "Tunnel Express" service which operated this way from August 1967 until some time in the 1990s. Having posted it to my Flickr page I received a comment that it was originally a Super Coaches of Upminster bus stop that had been "bequeathed" to Dr Heffernan after the company ceased operating (Super Coaches operated a small and constantly-changing bus network in the local area). It was still in situ in September 2013 but has since been removed.

Street View still shows this London Transport relic in Chesham in 2010. As the road is a cul-de-sac where buses used to terminate I haven't been down there to see if it has been removed in the past 8 years but it was unusual even when in use as ex LT flags had generally been replaced in the area.

I don't know the history of Super Coaches but its local bus network was run under various names at least into the 1970s including the Hacton Lane service. I have a 1970 timetable showing the service under the name City Coach Lines as well as the Thames Weald service. I assume that the services started to be introduced in 1958 when London Transport withdrew the 238 leaving the County Park Estate without a bus service.

City Coach Lines seem to have operated a more intensive service than Super Coaches, in my early teen bus spotting days I never saw one in opertion despite living locally as the network was essentially taking commuters to stations that weren't on my route to school.

Spotted this at Danestone Terminus in Aberdeen last Friday. First Aberdeen Fare info from the 00s, i think the Pink one is from around 2007 with the blue one dating back to 2004.

You lucky people! Bus stop signs! When I was a kid living near Yeovil, no such thing existed. The location of bus stops was a specialist knowledge handed down by tradition and a certain degree of vagueness. If you weren't in the know you didn't stand a chance of getting a bus.
And as for timetables........nothing. Well....they were posted up at Yeovil bus station, but nowhere else. Again, it was pure insider knowledge as to when buses turned up

Surviving Stagecoach stripes and Tillingbourne (ceased March 2001) stickers both well preserved under a shady tree. The stop is no longer in use though.

This stop with Stagecoach stripes is still in use though, by an hourly (until February half-hourly!) service. I wonder if it was skipped deliberately to retain a bit of history as it is a timing point and also the only stop along this road - and route - that wasn’t re-stickered a few years ago with red Stagecoach logos. The restickering came about after Stagecoach bought the previous operator of routes along here and covered that operators name up with Stagecoach logos. That previous operator had obviously missed this stop out previously though, so I wonder if the Stagecoach bus stop team thought as it was technically a Stagecoach logo rather than that of the previous operator they were covering up, they’d let this one survive?

2003 National express poster at Port Talbot bus station.

I tried to remove this in 2012, however the screw has been completely rounded off meaning that it cant be! Still there today!

Somewhere near my home it's still 1987 (the exposed route number is from the mid-1990's)... This is not an abandoned former bus stop! The post itself could well be faded Thames Valley red.

If that's the stop I think it is (Burnham, Garibaldi) the 76 ran in the last few years, when Heathrow were paying for everywhere - airport services, 'everywhere' including Burnham village on a Sunday. It also led to the unusual position that Burnham had a better Sunday service than during the week. Wind forward to today, and with (I think) reduced airport funding and First not wanting to operate services through Slough town centre (so everything terminates at the bus station), and Burnham has no Sunday service at all.

Not quite - that was the more recently axed route 78; Heathrow - Langley - Slough - Britwell, extending to Burnham on evenings and Sundays IIRC. The numbers covered up by the white sticker date from the mid-1990's (pre-First Bus): 5, 5A, 76, 92. The 76 was the direct Heathrow route back then.

Plenty of relics when traveling in South Wales. Old pre beach ball Stagecoach stops in Aberdare and Merthyr. Also a number of firms long gone such as Shamrock, Isley, and Gwyn Williams!

Added the second one if only for the outwardly menacing guy in the doorway
