Does anyone know what sort of score is average to pass ?

I’m using an online tool to practice but no idea how my scores compare to others and if are good enough to pass. Like most have said going for accuracy rather than speed.

consensus is at least 8 perfect lines per page. You should print them out though as it's not realistic to do it on a computer.

Arghhh this is driving me mad, practicing like mad on these and I'm getting around 8/9 lines and I think I've done well then go through the answers and missed 2 or 3, I've never crossed out incorrect groups but missing 4s is doing my head in

When I was practicing, if I made mistakes I would slow my pace down gradually until I stopped making them, then build the speed up from there. You want to find that sweet spot balance of speed vs. mistakes, where you work at a fast but consistent pace making no errors and omissions.

Just keep at it and you’ll get there. Your results aren’t that bad at the moment so just build on it. :)

Yes, I have been doing a lot and I've seemed to have gotten worse, so that makes sense.
I read on here that 8 perfect lines are considered benchmark, so I've been frantically trying to get 8 or more done, think a slower approach is needed as you say.

Hi guys
I have an assessment day coming up next month, and have been emailed a practice test for SCAAT and TRFS. I plan to print off the SCAAT papers from the link kindly provided at the beginning of the thread. (I have downloaded the app). However, I haven't been able to find any practice TRFS. Does anyone have any links to some free ones? The one supplied in the email won't be much use after I've done it once or twice ;) TIA

Hi I've just started using this tool to prepare for the OPC's Mini Scaat. I've got to say I've had about 3 goes and am making a lot of mistakes.

I was of the understanding the test I have been asked to do online for Southern would be letters not symbols?

I know nobody knows for sure but how many lines should I be completing per sheet for the mini scaat test?

Hi everyone, I've got my stage one with WMT next Wednesday and I've cleared my diary to get some study and practice in.

Just a couple of questions regarding the group bourdons in the assessment centre.

Are you expected to complete the entire page in the designated time given. The practice bourdons I've been given allow me just one minute a page (20 lines) but I only manage about 2/3rds I could probably squeeze it into 1 min with practice but when you are tasked to cross more than one metric I only manage a 3rd of a page.

I guess what I want to know is are you penalised if you don't complete the whole grid?

Thanks :)

You aren't , you are not expected to finish the page .

On the assessment centre group bourdon test are the dots in a grid or are they nor? Also how do you mark them do you have to X, circle or / them? May sound trivial but it can have an impact as to how fast you marj them. At moment I have printed out the sheets and very quickly mark them with a board marker pen, if you have to circle them for example then this will take longer to do and hence a person will not complete as many lines. Thanks in advance

You simply put a line / through it and they are set out like the ones on here.

Found the tool very useful indeed. Spent a week or so doing it exclusively on the computer, then printed a load off & did the paper version. I found doing the computer ones first made the paper one much easier after and that helped me for the day itself which was on paper.

If it's the tool from here then it only runs on PC I'm afraid or using a PC emulator on a Mac - in fact if you search this thread for Mac, you will find some people who have got it to work.

I got it running on my MacBook by setting up a virtual windows xp machine with virtual box. I followed an online tutorial on how to get the OS running and it runs pretty smoothly on my old Mac.

I've been practising Bourdon for over a month now and originally started off, as expected with not as many lines with a number of errors. I'm now in a flow where completing 14 to 15 lines with approx 2 to 3 ommisions in total over the 5 sheets in the 10 mins, I never make the mistake of marking anything other than 4 dots, just sometimes miss them. I'm finding it really difficult now to slow down to try and get zero errors in a panic that I don't complete enough. I know that nobody knows the pass rate, but if I were to score as have been doing today with 14 to 15 lines missing 2 to 3 would that pass? Assessment day coming up in 3 weeks exactly, not that I'm counting :)

Are you doing it on pen and paper or the tool? Just wondering for myself

When I was practicing (on paper), I consistently got 10-11 lines down with no more than 1 omission across the whole test. I passed to my TOC’s Enhanced Standard on the day.

I would suggest that it may be worth slowing down slightly to reduce your omissions just to make sure. :)

It's one of those things eh 14 to 15 lines completed without errors with a couple of errors would have been 15 to 16 lines. Balaced against zero errors but say only 12 lines.....which is better?

Hi guys,
A total newbie here. I've just tried to download the link to the tests but struggling to get access (I am using a Windows PC). Also, has anyone of you lovely people got a link to the "magnificent 7 situational judgement test and the Visual search exercise"?
Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.
