Unfortunately the fully referbished ones still retain the SWT driver seat.

Yes, 450543 is currently being refurbished at Eastleigh/is done now, so it will be re-numbered 450043. This will apply to all 450/5s being done.

And that also means that I'll have to go out and buy the 2019 edition of the ABC Rail Guide. I've been using the 2018 version so far and it will be easier to buy a new one rather than update my old one.

That physical reversion has always been known, it is clearly shown in the 2017 franchise agreement. However it wasn't ever formally stated that they would be re-numbered, although that was a reasonable assumption.

I noticed today that a refurbished 444 quiet coach isn't marked as such on the outside. Which sadly increases the chance of noisy passengers getting in it without realising.

The issue of poor outside signage for first class, bike zones and quiet zones on 450s and 444s should get rectified with the re-liveries. I imagine they’ll get the same yellow and blue door surrounds as is on the latest 159 liveries.

I think all SWR-liveried units which don't have any blue/yellow door surrounds don't have any external Quiet Zone markings, unfortunately. But the 159s which do have the blue/yellow door surrounds are very clear imo; better than the SWT markings

I think it’s very probable that when the desiros start getting done, they’ll get the same ‘lite’ treatment the 442s and 159s got.

Also.. 450002 has moved from Northam to Eastleigh works this afternoon.
This gives Eastleigh 2 x (standard) 450s for the refit programme and 450543 remains on site, this being the first former HC unit to be dealt with.

Stripes on the DMU livery had been confirmed as discontinued by December. Goldfish62 posted it (quoting Modern Railways) in post #1426 on 25th Dec, probably trying to bury the news!

The next screen has Wi-fi or Web in top right corner- click that and it tends to work fine.
