Have you sat the assessment centre yet? The SJE and MMI were both sat at the end of my assessment centre.

No need to as I passed the other psychometrics with another TOC and only need to sit the MMI and SJE

Could you advise me of what you encountered for those two?

The SJE involved a number of questions which are completed on the computers. Like what do you think is the best response etc. Don’t remember how many there were but quite a few. The results don’t affect your overall assessment score but gives them an idea of what areas your strong in and what areas could you improve on.

In the MMI you will sit with a member of the HR/OPC team and they will ask you six questions. You will get an opportunity before hand to write a short sentence for each example and they will ask you to expand. Questions like give me a role similar to a train driver which you have done? An example of pressurised situations? An example of good customer service?

Take your time with the SJE and take a sip of water before answering each question during the MMI. As long as you make your answers clear and relevant you’ll be fine.

Thank you for your reply DA1, did you go through the trainee shunter or driver process and are you now a Southeastern employee?

In terms of the MMI I am guessing they are scoring you based on something. Do you know what what could be? What are they acc looking for? Key words or areas that might turn them on?

Also do they hold DMIs, as I haven't had a DMI and don't know whether that is part of the psychometric assessment.

Thanks again

Currently a trainee shunter driver with SE. Not sure what they look for but it’s essentially a tick box exercise for them. If there are any points you’ve missed they will ask further questions.

If you pass the SJE and MMI stage then you will move onto the DMI stage as it’s not part of the psychometric assessment.

That's great! If you don't mind me asking, how long is the training programme, how many months in are you, what depot are you at?

Overall how is it going? Is it what you expected it will be? Goods and bads?

Apologies for all the questions but its good to have someone who has gone through the process and is in it

How’s everything going mate? I’ve applied for the same role with southeastern at the Grove Park Depot.

Any knowledge/advice/wisdom would be great if you get a moment?

Constant 5 week cycle:

5 lates, 2 off, 4 earlies, 6 off, 4 nights, 4 off, 6 on (3 earlies, 3 nights), 4 off.

You work 2 weekends in every 5 with the weekends being 12 hours.

Hey DA1,

Can't send you a PM, what are the tests like for the role? Was you apart of the TOC before applying for the Shunter driver role?

Sorry to bombard you with all these questions.

Cheers,

Hey this is really helpful. Would you be able to shed any light as to whether overtime or weekend pay is available on top of basic annual wage? or is it all included?
