Hi,

Probably gonna be a fair number of these!

I’ll start the ball rolling with (MDE) Maidstone East to Maidstone Barracks (MDB).

If there was a fare for this, and for most others quoted in this thread, most forum members would be complaining of a ‘rip off’. There is no fare because there is no point - no one needs to make these journeys by rail. They can just walk / bus / taxi far more efficiently.

Oh, I think most forum members would have taken it as the trivia exercise that the OP designated it to be. Not part of the exercise but interesting is to consider how you would actually get from one station to the other. Canterbury East to Canterbury West would be quite scenic, you can forget New Cross to New Cross Gate though. There are a stack of those listed as comments for the Geoff Marshall clip (and not a complaint in sight).

What is fascinating is what is listed as being possible - Birmingham New Street to Birmingham Moor Street. For the princely sum of £2.40 you can walk to Snow Hill then get the train to Moor Street.

St Budeaux Victoria Road and St Budeaux Ferry Road.
There is indeed a fare quoted, either £24 or £18, which involves travelling from Ferry Rd to Liskeard, back to Plymouth, then the Gunnislake service to Victoria rd. Source National rail website

Ah, but this is not a through fare. I think only through fares count. Equally, wider Zonal tickets don't really count - e.g. Angel Road to Meridian Water only had Travelcards available, and no point to point tickets, though it wasn't ever possible to travel between the two (except as an overnight journey!).

The title does say "no fares avaliable", so in that case it should be amended.
Catford to Catford Bridge does indeed result in "no fare avaliable"

There will always be combinations of tickets available for all combinations of stations, so I think it's a little pointless to include stations for which combiantions of tickets are available but no through fare!

There is no fare for this journey: http://www.brfares.com/#!fares?orig=SBV&dest=SBF

All journeys will have a combination of fares that is valid for the journey; so i f your logic was to exclude all journeys on that basis, the entire thread would have to be scrapped ;)

There is no point-to-point paper fare, so I would say it's fine to include this.

That said, the PAYG system would charge an appropriate zonal fare if you made this journey using PAYG.

Newark Castle to Newark Northgate. NR recommends a (rather gentle) 28 minute walk.
