Looking at today's trains, I noticed a service I was previously unaware of - a Sunday morning Retford - Meadowhall train - http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y65407/2019/07/14/advanced - great idea, getting to the popular shopping centre just after ten on a Sunday morning, makes sense.

Presumably this is a relatively new service (the Retford - Sheffield line didn't have passenger services before Sunday lunchtimes until fairly recently).

The reason for mentioning it is that I can't remember any other services terminating at Meadowhall - hundreds of Northern/TPE trains serve it each day and others pass through non-stop (XC, EMT) but the layout isn't great for terminating services and I can't recall any that have done so (other than engineering works/ blockades/ temporary disruption).

Some stations have hundreds of services a day but none that actually terminate there - off the top of my head I'm thinking of Shipley, Waterloo East and (Manchester) Deansgate...

...at some stations everything terminates (too many branch lines to list!)...

...but are there any other stations that do have some terminating services but those terminating services are (say) less than 1% of the daily services at the station?

Couple of examples to kick off:
St. Annes-on-the-Sea has one scheduled terminating service per week, on Saturday nights, though other trains can be turned around there if delayed.
Bolton also has a single terminator on Saturday nights, with one service starting at Bolton on weekday mornings.

Chinley has one to Manchester Piccadilly in the morning and a terminator from Piccadilly in the evening.

Moreton-in-Marsh, on the Cotswold Line, gets a few terminating services. A train will arrive on the Down Cotswolds, sit in the station for a while, and then, so as to not block the line, it will be quickly sent out across the junction at the end of the platform onto the Up Cotswolds as a service to London. Seen as it is a station on the Cotswold Line with only two platforms, it's weird that you get terminating trains there.

Ribblehead has 1 tpd (19:49SX from Leeds) terminating there.
Stockport has a huge number of trains passing each day with 2 tpd from Chester via Northwich terminating.
Also one train per week (on Saturday morning) from Stalybridge!

Willesden Junction has a handful of LO service terminating there towards the end of daily service - more a matter of operational convenience than necessarily passenger demand.

Likewise, LO at Battersea Park, with just 1 in, 2 out Monday-Friday and a single starter on Sunday mornings, albeit on a different platform and line to the hundreds of Southern & Gatwick Express services passing through on the main line.

Muir of Ord has a terminating service from Tain early on a Saturday morning at 01.30. This is quite a bizarre one, as the empty train after working it goes onto Inverness anyway!

In the current timetable, Letchworth. On weekdays one early morning and one midday service start there, and one midday and one evening service terminate there. Further to this Sundays see three additional trips each to and from London. This compares to historic timetables where quite a few services used to start and terminate here.

On the same route, Finsbury Park sees a handful of services which start or terminate, mainly services ex depot to Moorgate, but also the odd terminating service. There’s one service booked to do Kings Cross to Finsbury Park on a Sunday evening.

Taffs Well gets one train a week (Saturday morning). Of course, it gets cancelled on the day I'm in the area to do it :(

Danby and Battersby, 1 each (though a fair proportion of the total service). Ribblehead, ditto.
Canterbury East (? - certainly has had, most years since 1959!).

Some stations on the Wirral line.

Hamilton Square, has a late night terminator for example, from Ellesmere Port (2R50).

Llandudno Junction ussually has a handful of terminating services each week although I am not sure there are any in the current timetable. Its the end of the new signalling system, late services past it depend on the business case for keeping signal boxes open for longer.

Branksome has a single terminating service in the morning the 0612 WAT-BSM which has a very strange calling pattern, it calls at Millbrook and Redbridge rare calls on services towards Weymouth, but not Pokesdown or Christchurch.

Earlestown has one, the 1600 Liverpool Lime Street - Earlestown on weekdays. I think Blake Street used to have one late evening terminator from Birmingham, but not since the May timetable change.

Hartlepool has one early starter and one late finish Mon-Sat - rest all run through (bar the oddball Darlington-Hartlepool services on a Sunday which may push it beyond the realms of this thread?).
Another one I'm thinking of in my corner of the world would be Prudhoe with the evening peak one that finishes there. Can I also claim Danby & Battersby on here?...

Fort William. Most Scotrail services run through to Mallaig, while the one a day sleeper services terminate.
