Are those of more interest due to their special event advertising rather than a standard one used for engineering works I wonder.

Not that I wish to sell my poster. Just wondering if others collect this stuff.
I have loads dating back about 15 years that have been picked up from various places over the years.

Station PIS has obsoleted them almost everywhere these days. They're basically just a sanity check.
Funnily enough travelling south from Doncaster last week the service originated from Leeds, but had (to) Edinburgh Waverley stickers in the window slots. That confused a few punters.

Lead to believe the LNER 91 sets are the last to use destination labels

GWR has just put some new labels on the souvenir site:
Newquay Pride (£15.00)
Pembroke Dock express (£10.00)
Atlantic Coast Express (£10.00)

I saw these earlier - in all honesty, too expensive! To me, the Newquay Pride one is the only remotely special one, and the other two could probably be bought on eBay for less than a tenner.
Just a thought.

I have the exact same Atlantic coast label. Got it off eBay for £2.30!

That's my point - especially with the GWR box of window labels, if you went through and bought one of each label, over a longer time, you could probably make it at least feel better on the wallet!

But then with the box, you get all the 2019 labels - including all the last day HST labels, so not too bad bearing in mind you get a load of £10/£15 labels and the rest. But still very expensive!

Really? The Last Day labels as well? Interesting! But I would prefer to buy just the ones that are specific to my interests, rather than have loads of ones for lines I've never been on!

I suppose you are right there. Also if you already had some of the labels in the box you would have to some how get rid of them. I try to collect labels form the Cotswold line as it's the nearest GWR line to me.

I suppose if you wanted to get rid of labels, you'd have to go on eBay, but it would be better to not get duplicates in the 1st place!
I also live near the Cotswold Line, so I have collected three window labels from there:
-Great Malvern from London Paddington
-Worcester Shrub Hill from London Paddington
-Hereford from London Paddington

I'm also looking for a Hereford - London Paddington one, so if anyone sees one on eBay and they aren't interested, please let me know!
I've done the whole journey Paddington - Hereford by HST at some point, so having one window label to cover (probably years of) all those journeys would be amazing.

Quite the collection! I've seen a couple for the Cathedrals Express, and, as I have seen it a few times (when it was a HST), I would like one, but anything over £5 for one is too much.
Thanks,

I got my two (along with 10 other named services) from the GWR shop. 12 named labels for £10! Could not turn that down

Not bad! Under £1 per label. I keep checking the GWR Shop to see if they upload new stuff but the newest stuff is Plymouth and Newquay so not my area!

-Peter

EDIT: Pembroke, not Plymouth

I'm going to buy the Pride label, but when my wallet allows me to! Shame GWR have not done any for the last day of HST operation labels or the Flying Banana tour.

Definitely. Hopefully the prices for them on eBay will either stay around the £15 mark or someone will accidentally list one for a lower price! I saw one person list three labels:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Intercit...670726?hash=item3b35157b46:g:fXsAAOSwlf1c-lbb

For £125! It may be a funny price, but for these three labels that's not on.

I was on that HST, between Oxford and Kingham, and when we asked the train manager about them he said he didn't know what we were on about!

I went between Reading and Oxford. I was about to ask a GWR staff member on the train if I could nab one, but the train manager announced he had 60 to sell at £5 each. They all went in under 10 minutes!

Blimey! The manager of the train said on the PA system when we left Oxford that they had raised a lot for charity purely though the sale of railway memorabilia.

It was limited to one per person, but I think some were getting 2/3 and saying 'Can I have another for my mate, he is sat in our seats' and they would get two. Then they would keep one and sell the other!

That's one thing I can't stand about some railway enthusiasts. Buy one, add it to the collection, end of. Don't buy two, keep one, and sell one for ££££s!

Under a privatised railway, you can't avoid capitalism rubbing off onto a sector of the enthusiast base!

Anyway, like with anything else, each of these labels is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

Fair point. Another reason for why we need a nationalised system, but that's a subject for another day.
And I'm not prepared to pay over £5 for a normal label, and no more than £10 for anything else.

Does anyone know if EMT or CrossCountry do HST labels as well, and if so if they have any pictures of them. Thanks.

I don't think they do - I've done many an eBay search for "window labels" in the railway category and nothing comes up. A Google search has also produced inconclusive for both EMT and XC. Sorry!
