Signalling Simulations (RDC)

For a while, I've been passively working on a piece of software that aims simulate the workings of mechanical signal boxes in a web browser. The end aim is to create a range of simulations that accurately represent how boxes work, both mechanically and electrically. It's a way off there yet (there's no timeouts on signals, the block bells could be better, etc, etc.,) and it won't be to everyones taste, but if anyone's interested, or just fancies a go in a mechanical signal box, it's available at www.railwaydata.co.uk/signalling. Of course, feedback is welcomed

Some very interesting simulations on there, and very well made as well! I don't understand a lot of the bits of the signalling equipment, so maybe a small .txt document/webpage could be provided just for saying what each bit of equipment does?

Glad you like it. There are a lot of people such as myself who would love to be able to control the signalling properly but they just aren't sure. Having even a link to the Wikipedia article on UK railway signals would be cool.

To offer a train using the block bells, you just need to click the lower half of the instrument (the black part). If the line is clear, the box 'next door' will accept the train and the needle will move from the normal (white) position to point to the line clear (green) section. You'll then be able to clear signals into the section.
