How much would it be from Euston to Bletchey, doesn't say on their website?

So cheaper than buying a first class ticket over a standard one. Seems quite an extravagance given the relatively short distance!

I have a ticket from Croydon-Victoria. There is a direct train from Croydon to Bletchely via Clapham Junction. Would my ticket cover me to Clapham?

I bet they don't sell many of those!

I'd recommend not buying it in advance, do it on the train from the guard. That way you can see the 1st class section first, decide it's not worth it and save £15! :)

Yes, that should be fine (in combination with a ticket(s) to cover Clapham Junction to Bletchley of course)

I don't think there is first class on this service, certainly never used to be although the trains have it.

It used to be classed as a southern metro service and none of them had first.

Hope this relates to what you are asking.

Just looked up on NR, it says 1st class seating.

First class on Southern is even less worth paying for than on London Northwestern. On the Croydon - Milton Keynes route it will be a a handful of seats at the front and rear of each unit. The rest of the seats in the same carriage will be identical, only without an antimacassar.

The first section is actually worse, it will be two tables for four with either a very cramped pair of airline seats behind, or tables for four with an uncomfortable and very cramped inward facing single seat behind. The rest of the carriage is far nicer - all table seating lined up perfectly with the windows, for those that like that.

Although the 1st class seating on the 377/2s isn't worth paying more for, all you get is a lovely antimacassar. I'm pretty sure there isn't even any dividing doors (as those only started appearing from the 4s)

The only trains operated by WMT on which this could even come close to being worth it are the Class 319s.

On everything else (2+2 seated at least) I would pay not to sit in First Class.

It really is not worth upgrading to first class at all on LNR. At best you will get a first class headrest that isn't of quality at all and if your lucky your seat may recline (very little and maybe a working plug socket. Don't upgrade is my advice.
